The Australian Government is testing AusAlert, a new national system that sends emergency warnings directly to compatible mobile devices during disasters.

At around 2:00 pm, you may hear a loud, siren‑like sound and feel your device vibrate for about 10 seconds. This is only a test — no action is needed.

After the weather stopped us last time, we're having another go... Bannockburn Brigade are planning to conduct a fuel reduction and ecological burn at the Bannockburn Cemetery on Saturday 23rd May commencing around 1pm. The burn will be conducted under strict prescriptions to reduce the risk of escape. Local residents may see and experience smoke.

Recently, members of Bannockburn Fire Brigade were called to assist with a job that required access to a roof.

Firefighters used our Safe Working at Heights gear for the first time since receiving it and completing training, allowing them to safely get up, complete the task, and return to the ground without issue.

This was a great example of our members putting their training into action and using the right equipment to get the job done safely.

Our brigade continues to train and build skills so we’re ready to respond when needed, while always making sure safety comes first.

The burn planned for the Bannockburn Cemetery today (Sunday 26th April) has been postponed due to the weather. The Brigade will look to complete the burn when the weather is more favourable.

The Fire Danger Period will be lifted as of 1:00am 13 April 2026.
As restrictions lift CFA is urging residents to remain fire-aware, with dry autumn conditions and strong winds still capable of producing fast moving grass fires.
