πŸ”₯πŸš’ Training Night πŸš’πŸ”₯

Last night our members took part in a draughting training night, practising setting up and maintaining a water supply from static water sources πŸš’

Training like this helps ensure our crews are prepared and confident when responding to incidents, especially in areas where hydrants may not be available. A great night spent building skills, teamwork and keeping operational readiness high.

With warm, windy conditions forecast tomorrow (Saturday), CFA is asking people to hold off on burn-offs.

Even though things have greened up a bit lately, we’re still seeing dry conditions around our area, and with wind picking up, burn-offs can easily get away from you.

🚜 If you’ve done a burn-off in the last couple of days, please take the time to check it is completely out.

A few quick reminders:
β€’ Consider postponing any planned burn-offs until conditions ease
β€’ Never leave a burn-off unattended
β€’ Let your neighbours know and be mindful of smoke
β€’ If you light it, you own it

πŸš’πŸ”₯ Community Thank you πŸ”₯πŸš’

Over the past three months, Ferguson Plarre's Bakehouse in Bell Post Hill have been kind enough to support the Stonehaven Fire Brigade through their in-store charity program. The program involves a donation can in store and with every baby chino purchased a gold coin goes directly towards the donation total, a simple idea making a big difference.

Thanks to the generosity of their staff and customers, an incredible $475.00 has been donated to our brigade. These funds will go directly towards purchasing firefighting equipment and assisting with the ongoing maintenance of our equipment and facilities. Support that truly helps us continue serving the community.

A very special shout-out to Talia, the store manager, for nominating our brigade as the selected charity. Your care, generosity, and commitment to both us and the wider community are genuinely appreciated and will never be forgotten.

It’s not just an amazing bakehouse, but an amazing bakehouse supporting many amazing causes. From all of us at Stonehaven Fire Brigade β€” thank you β€οΈπŸš’

This Saturday 14th February, some of our brigade members will be competing with the Osborne Park Running Team (CFA) at the local Osborne Park Competition. Osborne Park is a composite team with members from all over District 7 including Grovedale CFA, Belmont Fire Brigade, Lara CFA and the Drysdale Fire Brigade team will also be there!

Over the summer period, teams from across the state take part in the Urban Firefighting Championships, fast-paced events that showcase practical firefighting skills in a fun, healthy, and competitive environment.

If you’re curious about what we do or thinking about getting involved, come down, meet some of our members, and learn more about joining the team or your local fire brigade.

And keep an eye out β€” you might even spot our very own Stonehaven Tanker 2 in action during one of the events!

We’d love to see you there and cheer our members on πŸ‘

πŸš’ Strike Team Deployment – Lismore πŸš’

An early start for our members on Friday who headed out to Lismore as part of a strike team 0715 alongside Geelong West Fire Brigade, Barwon Heads Fire Brigade,Anakie Fire Brigade, Connewarre Fire Brigade and Queenscliff Fire Brigade.

Crews spent the day blacking out and mopping up, working closely with local brigades, farmers, heavy machinery operators, water suppliers and Forest Fire Management Victoria to make the area safe.

We’re incredibly proud of our volunteers for their ongoing commitment this fire season; supporting other communities while still protecting our own patch back home. A big thank you to everyone involved for another strong team effort. πŸ’ͺπŸš’
