🚒🔥 Training hard now, ready when it matters most.

Last night, our volunteers from Lethbridge Fire Brigade joined crews from Bannockburn, Stonehaven, Geelong West, Lara and SEV for a valuable hands-on training exercise.

The focus was on running grass fires, with crews practising how to work safely and effectively along the fire edge while keeping pace with fast-moving fire fronts. They also put their skills to the test cutting chains from gates and fences, ensuring quick access to properties when time is critical.

It's always great to see so many brigades training together, sharing knowledge, building confidence and strengthening the teamwork that helps keep our communities safe throughout the fire season.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their evening to take part. 👏🚒

🚒🔥 WORKING TOGETHER, TRAINING TOGETHER! 🔥🚒

This week, our members joined forces with Geelong West Fire Brigade for a fantastic night of joint training!

With the upcoming fire season fast approaching, members worked on a range of important skills, including:
🚒 Tanker tactics
🔥 Strike team leadership
💧 Draughting and quick-fill operations
👨‍🚒 Pre-summer operational readiness

Training alongside our neighbouring brigades is a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen our skills and build the teamwork and connections that are so important when responding to emergencies.

A big thank you to Geelong West Fire Brigade for a great night of training! We look forward to continuing to work together as we prepare for the upcoming fire season.

🚨 OUR STATION TARGETED AGAIN 🚨

Unfortunately, just two nights after our first attempted break-in, our fire station was targeted again overnight.

This time, an individual attempted to force entry into both sheds using a crowbar. While they were unsuccessful in gaining entry, several windows were smashed.

Thankfully, our station remains secure and our equipment has not been accessed.

We are sharing this update to keep our community informed and encourage everyone to remain vigilant. If you notice any suspicious activity, please prioritise your safety and report it to Victoria Police.

The incident has been reported to police.

Thank you to our community for your ongoing support. Despite these incidents, our volunteers remain committed to what matters most — protecting and serving our community. ❤️🚒

🚨 ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN AT OUR STATION 🚨

In the early hours of this morning, at approximately 3:30am, an individual attempted to gain entry to our fire station.

Fortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful, with damage limited to a padlock that will need replacing.

Much of our equipment and facilities are made possible through the generous support of our community, whether through donations, fundraising or grants. Our volunteer members dedicate countless hours to maintaining this equipment and take great pride in looking after our station.

It is extremely disappointing to see our station targeted, particularly when our members work so hard to provide a vital service to the community.

We ask that anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or out of the ordinary in the area around 3:30am this morning please get in touch with us.

The incident has been reported to Victoria Police.

Thank you to our community for your ongoing support. ❤️🚒

It was a fantastic weekend, with members gaining valuable hands-on experience, building confidence in their skills and getting plenty out of the training. A great effort from everyone involved. 🚒🔥
