You’ve probably seen them around town…

Return and Earn bin baskets are now in place across the CBD and parks, helping keep containers out of landfill and our city clean.

Remember: drop your eligible bottles and cans in the basket—not the bin!

Help make energy fair for everyone – starting with your home 🏠

The CSIRO Living Lab is a community of households across Australia sharing information about how they use energy and what matters to them. 📷

By joining the Living Lab, you can receive insights into your own energy use and help governments and energy providers design better programs to reduce energy bills, improve energy efficiency and support the transition to cleaner energy. 🌿

Participation is free and open to anyone over 18.

Recycling is easier than ever across Bathurst!

With 38 Return and Earn bin baskets already installed in high-traffic areas, you can leave eligible drink containers for others to collect and recycle.

A simple action with a big impact—trials show up to 80% fewer containers ending up in landfill.

Did you know?

Bathurst residents have returned over 145 million containers through Return and Earn since 2017!

With bin baskets now in place across town, it’s even easier to keep that momentum going—helping capture more containers in public spaces.

Small actions = big results.

Autumn is in full swing!

As street trees shed their leaves, Council street sweepers are working hard to keep our roads clear. You can help too by placing raked leaves into your FOGO (green lidded) bin. This helps divert leaf litter from landfill and turns it into valuable compost, supporting the growth of new food and helping improve soil health.

Please avoid sweeping or blowing leaves into the gutter, as this can block stormwater drains, damage stormwater infrastructure, and increase the risk of localised flooding. By working together, we can prevent stormwater blockages and protect our local environment this autumn.
