Happy International Womenโ€™s Day to the incredible women of St John NSW. ๐Ÿ’š

Across NSW, women play a vital role in keeping communities safe. They volunteer at events, train people in life-saving first aid, support young members, provide clinical care, and lead teams behind the scenes.

Every day they show up with skill, compassion, and a commitment to helping others.

We are proud to have so many strong women across our organisation and remain committed to creating pathways for women to lead, grow, and thrive within St John.

To every woman who gives their time, knowledge, and care to St John โ€” thank you. Your impact is felt in every life you touch.

We remain committed to creating pathways that empower women to lead, grow, and thrive within St John. To every woman who gives her time, expertise, and compassion to St John - thank you. Your impact is felt in every life you touch.

St John Ambulance NSW proudly marched in the 2026 Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, standing in support of inclusion, diversity and equality.

It was an honour for the NSW team to be part of such a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community and to walk alongside so many who champion respect and belonging.

We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, supported and respected, in our services and in our communities. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒˆ

PARTNERING TO STREGTHEN COMMUNITY CONNECTIVITY ๐Ÿ“ถ

We are proud to partner with the NSW Government Telco Authority to trial Community Connectivity Kits. These portable, rapid and resilient connectivity solutions are designed to support emergency operations when public networks become congested or unavailable, a common challenge seen at large-scale and regional events.

During our recent deployment at the Bathurst 1000, the kits supported approximately 60 St John Ambulance personnel across two secure Wi Fi networks. Team members were able to onboard quickly via QR codes, maintaining strong and reliable connectivity with consistent performance across the event site.

This collaboration demonstrates our shared commitment to keeping communities across NSW safe and connected, while exploring innovative solutions that enable first responders to coordinate more effectively during major events and network outages.

Thank you to NSW Telco Authority for their collaboration and support. We look forward to continuing this partnership and further strengthening community resilience across the state.

NSW Rural Fire Service have also advised of a total fire ban in place for today, 26th January 2026 across Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Lithgow, Mid-Western, Oberon and Orange.

Please reconsider activities like using a tractor, using a lawn mower/slasher, using an open fire, using power tools that can pose a risk to igniting a fire.

If your needing to be outdoors please limit your time in the heat, wear appropriate clothing, apply sunscreen, wear a wide brim hat and pair of sunglasses.

Make sure your drinking enough fluids like water and reduce the amount of sugary sweet drinks that can increase your thirst.

Check on your elderly neighbours throughout the day to ensure that they are doing ok, encourage them to drink cool water and stay indoors where necessary.

As the weather increases so does the chances of needing further medical assistance. Monitor your self and others for heat related illnesses and remember to call 000 immediately for NSW Ambulance if your symptoms are worsening and you neeed further medical assistance.
