Today marks 111 years following the Gallipoli landing and 110 years of ANZAC Day services across the nation. On the solemn day today is, we stop to pause, reflect and remember them.
Engrained into the Australian way, is the spirit of the ANZACs. Through us, their legacy lives on and should continue to do so for generations beyond.
Eloise, a local student addressed the community with compassion and the acknowledgement that ANZAC Day is not to celebrate war but to reflect on the costs paid by service personnel and their families. Her recollections of her trip to the Western Front brought distant events to the present. The way the soldiers, airmen and sailors showed courage, endurance and resilience where together, they pave the way of the ANZAC spirit.
Lest we forget.
