From Beechboro to Broome and beyond, you'll find the Bayswater team anywhere we're needed. Now that Narelle's made herself scarce, we're up Exmouth way, solving problems with teamwork, enthusiasm and chainsaws. Mostly chainsaws.

Last Saturday, Bayswater SES (Secret Elf Service) had the pleasure of participating in another year of ‘s Carols by the River 🌟 It was a great opportunity to talk with the community, demonstrate some useful knots and listen to some Xmas tunes. The crew also decked out the truck with a jolly new look, ready to es**rt Elf and Santa for the meet and greet!🎅🏽

Thanks to those who helped out on the night and wishing a happy holidays to all! 🕯️

Happy International Volunteer Day!

December 5th gives us the opportunity to recognise those who contribute their time, skills, and goodwill in servicing and supporting others. Volunteering is an important aspect of nurturing unity, resilience and respect within communities.

To our own crew, and the 26,000 wonderful emergency service volunteers in WA who we operate beside; a heartfelt thank you for your compassion and helping hands throughout the year. 🧡

Over the weekend several of our Bike Team members joined Wanneroo Joondalup State Emergency Service, Two Rocks SES and Bunbury SES in a joint Land Search Exercise around Lake Herdsman. 🚲

Specialty Bike Teams are able to thoroughly search faster than on foot, and cover larger areas of ground. This makes them a highly valuable asset in missing persons operations. The annual exercise is an opportunity to practice and apply skills learnt throughout the year in a potential real-world scenario.

It was perfect, sunny weather for a ride and the teams successfully located the "missing person" (all without any snake bites! 🐍).

Great work to all who participated!

Whether it's being the boots on the ground, leaders of operational teams, course instructors or coordinating behind-the-scenes duties; women are invaluable in emergency service operations.

Like Exmouth marine rescue, women currently make up 43% of Bayswater SES volunteers!

Women now make up 43 per cent of marine rescue volunteers in WA's north, despite the much higher ratio of men to women in the region.

Today we will be at the Avon Descent finish line from 11-5pm!

Come down and we can help you prepare for storms, give demonstrations on some helpful tips, answer any questions you may have and get some info on preparing for storms.

Come meet our volunteers who are also local members of the community!

It wouldn't be August without a rainy Reid Highway road trip to help our neighbours, and this year's was a good one. After hitting a few jobs in our own patch, Bayswater teams headed coastward to help out in Karrinyup, Stirling, Carine and Tuart Hill. Some easy, some hard, but all worthwhile. Same time next year?

Bayswater SES was on the road and on the rooftops last week, spreading tarps and shuffling tiles wherever we were needed. After one quick job in our own patch we headed for Northshore to help out our neighbours after the big storm.

New South Wales is a long way from Bayswater, but we don't let that stop us. This week we're headed over with the WA contingent to help deal with the effects of flooding on the east coast.

METRO NORTH COASTAL REGIONAL EXERCISE ⛈️

Bayswater SES along with other neighbouring SES units within the region engaged in a regional exercise comprising of various scenarios including storm damage, flooding, urban search & rescue and navigation. ⚡️🔦🧭
