🎉 What a fantastic first Beaudesert Market! 🎉

It was wonderful to see the Beaudesert town centre come alive, with the community coming together to support local businesses, enjoy delicious treats, connect with friends and neighbours, and even bring along their four-legged companions.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, as well as the stallholders, organisers, volunteers and Council staff who helped create such a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

Events like these showcase the strength of our community and the important role our town centre plays as a place to gather, connect and celebrate local.

Thick smoke may be affecting Upper Coomera, Wongawallan, Eagle Heights and surrounding areas this morning from a fire which started burning near the intersection of Tamborine Oxenford Road and Colin Meagher Road late yesterday.

Fire crews were in attendance, no properties were at risk and residents have been advised to protect themselves from the impacts of smoke.

📣 TRAFFIC ALERT: Lake Moogerah Road
🛣 Between the Cunningham Highway and Ski Zone Road

Transport and Main Roads Queensland have advised that on Lake Moogerah Road, between the Cunningham Highway and Ski Zone Road, single lane stop/slow traffic conditions will be in place from 6am until 6pm on Thursday 15 October and Friday 16 October 2026.

🛑 A 40km/h speed limit and traffic signals will be in place on Lake Moogerah Road and the Cunningham Highway to ensure the safety of road users and work crews undertaking linemarking works.

👉 Road users are advised to expect delays and plan ahead with updates on the QLDTraffic website and app: https://qldtraffic.qld.gov.au/

🌧 Weather or site conditions can impact works, delaying start and finish schedules.

Scenic Rim Regional Council is seeking tenders for the maintenance of sealed and unsealed roads at Council's landfill facility in Bromelton and transfer stations in Boonah and Tamborine Mountain.

📍 Locations:
• Bromelton Landfill
• Boonah Transfer Station
• Tamborine Mountain Transfer Station

📅 Tenders open: Tuesday 13 October 2026, 12pm
📅 Tenders close: Tuesday 3 November 2026, 2pm

Scenic Rim Regional Council is hosting casual gatherings around the Scenic Rim and we're looking forward to being part of it.

👉 See you Wednesday 28th October, 10am-11am at the Council Forecourt, High St, Boonah.

These free, accessible and inclusive events connect residents with different service providers and Council departments. It's lovely that our friends at boonah organisation for a sustainable shire - BOSS, who are Cuppa in the Communi-Tea regulars, will also be there.
