We pay our respect to the customs, traditions and stewardship of the land by the elders and people of these tribes on whose land we m

🚜 Farms offer wonderful spaces for children to explore, but natural water bodies like dams, creeks, and ponds come with hidden risks. Muddy banks can become incredibly slippery, easily causing a child to lose their footing.
Because toddlers are naturally top-heavy, a simple slip can quickly turn into a dangerous fall into the water. They are also incredibly curious and easily drawn to items floating on the surface.
While it is safest to remove any floating objects that might attract their attention, nothing replaces active, close adult supervision right at the water's edge to keep them safe πŸ‘€

🧒 Cracking the Bottle Top Mystery
Have you ever wondered what to do with those pesky metal bottle tops?
Do they belong in the recycling bin or the landfill?
πŸ”Ž Mystery solved: Recycle them!
Because bottle tops are small, they can slip through sorting equipment at recycling facilities when placed loose in your bin. The good news is there's a simple way to make sure they get recycled properly.
Here's how:
βœ… Collect your metal crown seals or twist-off caps from your bottles
βœ… Check they're mostly metal and remove any large plastic components if possible.
βœ… Place the caps inside a clean aluminium drink can or steel tin.
βœ… Crimp or squash the opening closed so the caps can't escape during transport.
βœ… Pop the secure container into your kerbside recycling bin.
♻️ By keeping small metal items together, you help ensure they are captured and recycled into new products rather than being lost in the process.

Small caps. Simple solution. Big recycling impact. πŸ’š

πŸͺ§Flood Recovery Update πŸͺ§
Great progress has been made following recent flooding, with repair works completed yesterday on several damaged roads in the Glenpatrick area.
As these roads were the sole access routes for local residents, crews prioritised works to restore safe access.
These roads were:
πŸ”Ί Akers Lane
πŸ”Ί Holdings Lane
πŸ”Ί Elmhurst-Glenpatrick Road
These are interim repairs to ensure safe vehicle access while future works are planned.
🌈 We're pleased to advise that all roads throughout the Pyrenees Shire are now open and accessible, with traffic management measures in place where needed.
πŸ› Meanwhile, cleanup works are underway at the Avoca River flat playground and amenities block. The goal is to restore these facilities and return them to a useable state as quickly as possible.
