🚨 KNOW HOW TO CALL TRIPLE ZERO (000) 🚨

In an emergency, every second counts.

If you see a fire, smoke, smell gas, or someone’s life or property is at risk, call Triple Zero (000) immediately and ask for FIRE.

πŸ“ž HOW TO CALL 000:
1️⃣ Dial 000 from any phone – mobile or landline
2️⃣ Ask for FIRE
3️⃣ Clearly explain what is happening
4️⃣ Give the exact location, including street name, suburb, landmarks or nearby roads
5️⃣ Stay on the line and follow instructions from the operator

πŸ”₯ Did you know?
Queensland Fire Department crews respond to thousands of fires and emergency incidents every year across the state, with Triple Zero operators answering emergency calls 24/7 to help get firefighters where they’re needed as quickly as possible.

πŸ“± The Emergency+ App can help emergency services find you faster by displaying your GPS coordinates, what3words location and drop-a-pin feature.

⚠️ Remember:
000 is for emergencies only. Hoax or non-urgent calls can delay help getting to someone who truly needs it.

πŸ‘‚ If you are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech impairment:
β€’ TTY users can call 106
β€’ SMS relay: 0423 677 767

🌏 Interpreter services are also available. Simply say:
β€œI want a [your language] interpreter.”

Teaching children how and when to call 000 could one day save a life.

Stay safe Queensland ❀️πŸ”₯

Wednesday Night Training – β€œShow Us Your World, We’ll Show You Ours”

Tonight, members from Cedar Creek Wolffdene RFS joined SES Members from Beenleigh for a great night of cross agency training.

RFS members were taken through different land search techniques, including search patterns and forensic search methods, before putting their skills into practice with a hands on search activity.

In return, SES members got an inside look at our firefighting operations including the equipment carried on our trucks, pump operations, hose types, nozzles, and other essential gear we rely on.

Both agencies gained valuable insight into how we operate and, more importantly, how we can support each other when it counts.

A great night of learning, teamwork, and strengthening interagency relationships.

May marks Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month πŸ’œ

DFV can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, and background. There are simple steps every Queenslander can take to prevent DFV in our communities.

The theme for 2026 is: Together Queenslanders can prevent domestic and family violence.

QFD is proud to stand against DFV in all forms, today and every day, and calls on everyone to help make a difference.
