On this day 20 years ago, we lost the greatest Wildlife Warrior. Steve united the world for the purpose of wildlife conservation. He taught everyone to love our planet. Two decades later, his message and legacy is still with us. We should all feel inspired to protect our natural world while approaching life with passion and enthusiasm. Our Crocodile Research Expedition for 2026 has come to a close. We have now captured and attached trackers to 317 crocodiles over almost 20 years. This groundbreaking research was started by Steve and Terri Irwin to help humans and crocodiles coexist. We are excited to learn even more about these magnificent reptiles to help humans coexist with them into the future. 🐊💚

Terri Irwin here showing us the size of a large male saltwater crocodile foot. Troy is a crocodile we caught first in 2009. He has now doubled in length and almost tripled in weight! We are excited to have fitted a new tracker to him to collect another 10 years worth of data to see where he goes and what he gets up to🐊 Crocs rule!

We are grateful to continue the work Steve and Terri pioneered, unlocking the secrets of these gorgeous animals to keep both people and crocodiles safe🐊
