Yesterday, our whole school community came together to celebrate an extraordinary achievement by Beerwah State High School Year 12 student Ladda Kaewhanam.
Ladda made history as the first student from the Brisbane Broncosโ Beyond the Broncos Indigenous mentoring program to design the Clubโs Indigenous Round jersey.
Her artwork, One Journey to The Other, was developed alongside Quandamooka artist Casey Coolwell-Fisher and was proudly worn by the Broncosโ NRL and NRLW teams during the recent Indigenous Round.
We were also privileged to hear from Ryan James, former NRL player and Brisbane Broncos First Nations Education Program Manager, as part of the celebration.
To recognise Laddaโs achievement, our school has purchased a signed jersey featuring her design, which has been professionally framed for display at the school.
It will stand as a lasting reminder of Laddaโs creativity, culture and achievement, and of a very proud moment for our entire school community.
๐ Congratulations, Ladda. We are incredibly proud of you.
