We’re currently exploring the possibility of introducing a private On Demand bus service for Bega, and we’re looking for community members, businesses, and professionals who may want to be involved in helping bring this idea to life.

Whether you have:

-Experience in transport/logistics
-Knowledge of regulations/licensing
-Business/financial expertise
-Tech/app booking experience
-Local community insights

We’re Exploring a Private On Demand Bus Service – Community Input Wanted.

We’re currently looking into the possibility of launching a privately operated On Demand transport service to help improve local transport options in the Bega community to start.

The idea is still in the very early planning stages, but one concept we’re exploring is operating:

🚌 Monday – Saturday:
5:00am-9:00am then 3:00pm – 10:00pm
🚌 Sunday: 10:00am – 10:00pm with hour break

The goal would be to provide flexible, community-focused transport during key hours where existing services may be limited.

We’re Seeking Help / Advice From:

-Anyone with experience in transport operations

-People who understand government transport regulations/licensing

-Local businesses/community groups who may wish to support or partner

-Community members willing to provide feedback on local transport needs

-
Anyone with knowledge around booking systems/apps for on demand transport

Would You Use a Service Like This?

-What pricing would be reasonable
-Any ideas/suggestions you have

This concept is only in the very early stages of planning.

We have done light research only and nothing is set in stone.

We’re exploring ways to improve local On Demand transport and would like your feedback.

One idea is a privately operated On Demand service running:

Monday to Saturday: 2:30pm – 10:00pm
Sundays: 10:00am – 10:00pm

This would be designed to better support travel needs across the community during key hours.

“Some people will argue, fuss, and even get aggressive with bus drivers over rules they already know exist.

Fare policies, folding strollers, no smoking, no loud music, no open alcohol—none of this is new information.

The bus aisle shouldn’t become an obstacle course, so stray legs are a big no from us

Not only is it rude to block others as they move through the bus, but it’s unsafe!

Now this is On Demand service in wonderful Surrey in the United Kingdom.

As stated on their website:

The connect service operates Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm and Saturday 8am to 6pm.
