Some places hold more than memories.
They hold people.

Ben and Louisa reached out because this little corner of Bermagui means so much more than just a holiday destination to their family.
Ben spent years coming here with his dad, now he comes here with his boys, the old 70’s beach shack filled with salty air, worn floorboards and familiar views became something even more precious. A place where family still feel close and the legacy of memories can continue to grow..

So we spent the morning meandering from the shack down to the beach overlooking Gulaga/Mount Dromedary as the sun started to rise, watching the boys spotting kangaroos, explore rock pools, sandy footprints, chasing seagulls and drawing in the sand while the ocean glowed around us. No rushing. No stiff poses. Just this season of their family life exactly as it is.

We finished back at the little green shack with their sweet dog, documenting the quieter moments too, the kind that might not feel significant now, but one day will mean absolutely everything.

That’s what I love most about photos in places tied to family history.
They become more than images.
They become part of the story itself…

the sandy feet, the laughter, the in-between moments —
that’s the stuff that actually lasts.

Barefoot exploring, sandy toes, shoulder rides and the sweetest little kisses for mum… the kind of moments that happen when no one is rushing and everyone is just enjoying being together.

There’s something extra special about photographing a family in a place that already holds so much of their story

For Tabby, Femi, and their beautiful little love, the Pambula River mouth is more than just a pretty stretch of coast, it’s where they wander slowly, where tiny feet meet water for the first time, where the days feel unhurried and togetherness comes easily.

You can feel it in the way Femi holds her close, like she’s still brand new.
In the way Tabby melts into her giggles.
In those tiny hands reaching for the safest place they know.

These are the seasons that pass quietly while you’re in them…
and then one day you realise they were everything.

From fishing lines in the snowy mountains, to Uno battles around the picnic rug, to golden hour wading in the river and exploring… every session with this family feels like stepping into a memory already in motion.

There’s something so special about photographing the same family over the years. The kids grow, the dynamics shift, the laughter gets louder, but the love? It just deepens.

I loved this session with Part-time locals Joey & Annalise, at their home near Tathra, soaking up life with their gorgeous little man.

It feels extra special to see these two step into parenthood after capturing their maternity story last year, same beautiful home, same gentle energy, now with tiny hands, sleepy cuddles and a whole new rhythm to their days.

These are the moments that matter. The quiet inbetween. The beginning of everything.

Some stories feel extra special because you get to witness them unfold, chapter by chapter

From engagement, to wedding, to maternity… and now welcoming their beautiful baby earthside. I’ve had the absolute honour of photographing Hayden & Emma through so many milestones, with three out of their four sessions held at their stunning home, surrounded by the gardens they’ve poured so much love into.

There’s something deeply meaningful about documenting a family’s story in the place they live and grow where memories are made long after the session ends. This maternity to newborn chapter felt especially tender, slow and full of quiet magic.

Thank you Hayden & Emma for trusting me with your story, again and again.
Watching your love evolve into a family is something I’ll never take for granted xx
