🔥 FIRE CALL🔥

A busy night for our crew last night!

Our crew was first paged to an Automatic Fire Alarm with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 254 Cessnock at 11:38hrs.
After the area was investigated and deemed safe the alarm was reset and our crews returned home.

As our crew pulled back upto the station at 00:15hrs we were then paged to a Structure Fire 2nd Alarm at Weston with several neighbouring stations!

Our crew arrived back at the station around 03:00 this morning.

A swift response from all crews involved preventing further spread into adjacent buildings and property

Well said Dan Repacholi MP,

Book your FREE Home Fire Safety Visit now! 🚒🚒

It's only a few days into winter and our local Fire and Rescue NSW crews have already been called out to dozens of house fires.

Which is a timely reminder that your smoke alarm needs more attention than the half-dead pot plant you've been promising to water since Easter.

Here's a fun fact that's not actually very fun, when you're asleep, you can't smell smoke.

So if your smoke alarm's only job is to wake you up when something's on fire, it's probably worth checking that it's actually working.

Now, if you're the type of person who needs a stepladder, a chair, a broom handle and a written will just to reach the smoke alarm, maybe don't.

Instead, get someone younger, taller, fitter, or generally less likely to end up on a TikTok reel to test it for you.

And if you're:
🔥 Over 65
🔥 Living alone
🔥 Living with mobility, hearing or vision challenges
🔥 Supported by carers, family or friends
🔥 Or English is your second language

Fire and Rescue NSW can come to you as part of their FREE Home Fire Safety Visit program.

They'll check your smoke alarms, help identify fire risks and give you advice to keep your home safe.

Because the only thing that should be smoking this winter is the barbecue.

Stay warm. Stay safe. Test your smoke alarm.

🎉MILESTONE🎉

Last night, our crew came together alongside family, friends, colleagues and past members to recognise and thank two incredible members of our station.

Captain Darren Schreiber has reached an incredible 30 years of service this year, and has served as Captain since 2008! While Firefighter Mark King celebrates 32 years of service with Fire and Rescue NSW 220 Bellbird, making him our longest serving current member! 🎉

As a station, we are immensely proud to serve alongside Darren and Mark and are incredibly fortunate to have members who have dedicated so many years to putting the Bellbird community first.

Well done Darren and Mark on achieving this outstanding milestone. Your dedication, commitment, and service to both the station and our community are truly appreciated.

Join us in congratulating Darren and Mark on this remarkable achievement! 🚒👏

A huge thank you to Sophs Scrumptious Sweets for creating the amazing cake, and to Darren’s and Mark’s family and friends for helping make the night one to remember.

We are more than just a crew, we’re a Family! 🚒

🚨100 YEARS🚨

Yesterday our members, families, friends, past members, other emergency services and members of the community came together to celebrate an incredible milestone!

100 years of service by Fire and Rescue NSW Station 220 Bellbird!

For a century, our station has proudly served the Bellbird and surrounding communities, responding to emergencies, supporting our neighbours and standing ready whenever help was needed. Reaching 100 years is a remarkable achievement and a reflection of the dedication, courage and commitment shown by generations of firefighters who have been apart of the Bellbird Fire station.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended yesterday’s celebrations and helped make the day so special. It was fantastic to see current and former members, allied emergency services, families and members of the community come together to recognise and celebrate our station’s history.

While we reflected on our proud history yesterday, we also look forward to continuing to serve and protect our community for many years to come!

Here’s to 100 years of Bellbird Fire Station! ❤️💙🚒
