Severe weather is on the way across Victoria.

Given the season, we know there are many campers enjoying the outdoors. Some of the following popular tourist areas are likely to be hit with storms this afternoon:

⛈️ Mornington Peninsula
⛈️ Lake Eildon
⛈️ Murray River and other locations

Some tips from Victoria State Emergency Service on how to stay safe when camping during wild weather:

⛺ When arriving at your camp, find out about your surroundings. Check evacuation routes and ensure you understand where to find shelter.
⛺ Flash flooding occurs after heavy rainfall — such as that expected later today.

Remember to watch the Bureau of Meteorology for the latest updates.
Stay safe, Victoria.

alive at your destination. If you’re feeling drowsy
while driving, pull over and take a break. Your
life is more important than arriving on-time.
