Benalla Leo Club

The Benalla Leo Club is a community service club for youth. It's an opportunity for young people to get involved in their community and learn life skills.

The Benalla Leo Club is a young Lions club that aims to provide youth with an opportunity to improve skills and leadership while having fun! All activity is supervised by Lions members, who also assist in project coordination. Main project goals include fundraising and improving the community.

Last Thursday, seven of our members attended the Benalla Rural City Australia Day Awards Presentation. We are proud to announce that our club has received the award for Benalla Rural City Community Group of the Year. We would like to thank Graham Milner, Bruce Walker and Maddie Roff, Lions members who have helped and supported us during the year, and also provided valuable guidance and training. Congratulations to everybody and I hope you all had a fantastic Australia Day. - Keeley.

Six members of our Leo club were out and about this week delivering newspapers to the local businesses. The newspapers advertise the 34th FAI World Gliding Championships that are starting today here in Benalla. The photos are of Georgie and Ed finishing up their deliveries before lunch. Fantastic to see the results of the latest Leo project around Benalla! For many months we have been working with Kidsafe and the Benalla Council to install signage in carparks. The signs are permanent and raise awareness of the dangers of leaving children in cars this summer. A full article can be read in the November 9 issue of the Benalla Ensign. 👍

Great to meet everyone from the other clubs in the district at the Leo Planning Day in Tongala last Sunday! We all learnt a lot, shared ideas and planned our future events. 👍 And had fun! 👌

Last meeting marked a milestone for our club, as we pledged our support for the White Ribbon Day Foundation. It was important for us to join the cause, as male violence against women is such a big issue in our area. Thank you to Neil Stott for conducting the signing ceremony. :)

We had two members inducted into the Benalla Leos Club at our last meeting, 15th of March. Georgie Burke and Sienna Fox were very excited to receive their offical certificate of membership and badge!
