Kalianna Annual Conference – Day 2

Day 2 of our Annual Conference is well underway, with staff engaging in a range of professional learning sessions focused on strengthening our practice and improving outcomes for students.

Today’s learning has explored the role of IT and AI in educational settings, how these tools can support teaching and learning, and innovative ways to engage students through maths games and hands-on learning experiences.

Staff have also been building their understanding of incident reporting and data collection, recognising the important role accurate information plays in supporting student wellbeing, monitoring progress, and informing decision-making.

Throughout the day, we have reflected on the unique strengths and contributions of our teachers, education support staff, and leaders, exploring how we can work together effectively to create positive learning environments and support every student’s success.

It has been another valuable day of collaboration, learning, and professional growth as we continue to build our capacity to meet the diverse needs of the students and school communities we support.

Kalianna Annual Conference 2026

Kalianna is well underway with our Annual Conference! Today, staff arrived in Moama for two days of professional learning, collaboration, and connection.

Our annual conference is an important opportunity for staff to come together, reflect on our practice, and continue building the skills and knowledge that support positive outcomes for students, families, and school communities.

Today’s focus is our ongoing work with Real Schools. We are fortunate to have Daniel joining us once again to continue our learning around building strong relationships, creating positive school cultures, and supporting student engagement and wellbeing.

The strategies and approaches we explore through this work help strengthen our partnerships with schools and ensure we continue providing the best possible support for the students and communities we work alongside.

We are looking forward to another day of learning, collaboration, and professional growth as we continue investing in better outcomes for young people.

We’re excited to share that our students from Years 7–10, along with a few talented students from Grades 2–3, have entered artwork into the Incognito Art Show!

Our pieces can be found in the Sydney and Brisbane Collection Drop 7 and have been entered into the Children’s Artwork category. All artworks are sold anonymously for $100, with the artist’s identity only revealed once the piece has been purchased.

Even better, proceeds from the exhibition support charities that assist people living with disabilities, making this a wonderful opportunity for our students to contribute to an important cause through their creativity.

We are incredibly proud to have our students featured in this national exhibition and would love for you to have a look, you might just spot a few familiar creations!

SRC & Deadly Leaders Camp – Day 3!

Day 3 has arrived, which means our camp adventure has come to an end.

After a well-earned sleep-in, we packed our bags, cleaned our cabins, and got ready for our final activity at Blackwood Camp. We finished our time away with an engaging Environmental Studies session before hopping on the bus and heading home.

Over the past three days, our students have challenged themselves, stepped outside their comfort zones, and created memories that will last a lifetime. From high ropes and archery to campfire cooking and team challenges, they have shown incredible teamwork, resilience, courage, and leadership.

We are so proud of the way our students supported one another, built new skills, and embraced every opportunity that came their way.

A huge thank you to the staff, camp organisers, and everyone involved in making this camp such a rewarding experience. We may be heading home, but the friendships, skills, and memories made at Blackwood Camp will stay with us for a long time to come!

SRC & Deadly Leaders Camp – Day 2!

Day 2 of camp kept us busy, wet, and full of adventure!

Our day started with breakfast in the cabin before heading straight into some exciting activities, including high ropes, zip lines, and plenty of fun. We were incredibly proud of everyone for giving it a go and showing such bravery. Whether they completed the course or simply put on a harness and challenged themselves to try something new, every effort was a success.

After morning tea, we enjoyed some campfire cooking, where we made delicious apple jaffles that were a big hit with everyone.

Following lunch, we took part in an orientation activity that had us exploring the camp grounds and getting plenty of steps in along the way. After a well-earned rest back in the cabin, we enjoyed dinner before gathering around the campfire to toast marshmallows and share stories from the day.

Now it’s time for an early night as we rest up for our final day of camp. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
