Have you seen these cute little contraptions around town?

They are book exchanges. You take a book, you leave a book.

This particular one lives at Peppergreen Farm.

I'm highlighting this one today, because it needs to see a bit more action. (And it's my local 🀭)

For the last month or so, I don't think I've seen any change in its collection.

I promiss I will leave some great reads there next time I'm there, if you all do too! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Take a selfie, add it to your story & tag us!

When one door closes another one opens.

We are very thankful to Boomerang Bags Bendigo for the donation of three of their sewing machines.

After 3 years they've decided to close the group. They have achieved quite the feat by distributing more than 4500 hamdmade shopping bags in Bendigo.

A massive well done to all the sewing ladies (and gents), and thank you!

Special mention of Loretta & Leanne who made it all possible 🀩

Hi Librarians!

We are nearly ready to publish our survey report! Are you waiting with bated breath?

In the meantime, here's a insight on where our respondents are from.

Interestingly, we received a number of responses from outside of the Greater Bendigo area, the furthest away being Melton at 125km from Bendigo.

We also received responses from Castlemaine, Taradale, Toolleen and Dunolly - the last three all being more than 40km from Bendigo.

Most respondents, however, are located in Strathfieldsaye! Followed closely by Flora Hill & Eaglehawk.

Hi Librarians,

I'm looking for a pot big enough to fit about 4kg of peaches with plenty of room to spare. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Congratulations to the Make-Do Library of Things Wollongong for receiving the Outstanding Innovation Award 2020

"The Make-Do Library of Things and DIY space is a volunteer run not-for-profit organisation that offers an innovative service for the people of Wollongong. It allows people to borrow the things they would otherwise buy and potentially only use once, as well as learn how to ensure the longevity of tools, clothes and other items around their home. With its first location open in Bulli and a second location to open in Port Kembla in early 2020, the library provides a system that is accessible to everyone across Wollongong."

Yay for Libraries, Makerspaces, ShareSheds & the sharing economy in general!

For generations, Geoff Phillips has been a firm fixture of local news bulletins and tonight he was named Wollongong's Citizen of the Year for 2020. The...
