Members from Bendigo SES assisted our colleagues at Marong SES with the evacuation of people who had become isolated due to rising floodwaters.

A reminder to everyone: never drive through floodwater.

There are currently a number of flood rescues occurring across the state, many of which are completely avoidable.

It can be extremely difficult to judge the depth of floodwater, the strength of the current or the condition of the road underneath. What looks safe can quickly become life-threatening.

No destination is worth risking your life for.

The decision to drive into floodwater might be the last decision you ever make. Turn around. Don’t drown.

While it's a bit early to know the final numbers, based on the laughter, singing, dancing and level of competitive rivalry on display last night, our Trivia Night was a smashing success. It was so good to see everyone there - it was definitely a full house.

It's time to take a deep breath and relax. Huge round of applause to the team that pulled this gig together - it was a massive job and you did it brilliantly đź‘Ź

Big thanks to trivia master Alan and his lovely assistant Maureen for facilitating the night, and to Bendigo RSL for the venue and the staff who kept us fed and lubricated.

Also to Jess and her crew who shared the very clever SES rescue scenes created from Lego. What an imagination!

Most of all though, THANK YOU to our sponsors and donors! We could not have done this without your amazing support and generosity.

The fact that you took the time and money out of your own businesses to recognise what we do for our community, and donated your products and services to us so we could benefit from their sale to keep our unit running smoothly, is so appreciated.

There are simply no words to adequately say how much it meant to us.
