The robots drew the crowd. Our students set the standard. 🤖

Sixteen teams. Eight primary schools. One day spent solving problems, testing ideas and pushing robots to their limits.

As teams took on the First Lego League City Shaper competition, our Benowa STEM Ambassadors were right there helping lead the experience, supporting younger students and sharing the skills they’ve developed through their own STEM journey.

For many visitors, this was more than a competition.

It was a glimpse of what’s possible when students are given the opportunity to lead.

Have you got your tickets for Redbacks Jazz Night yet?

For our musicians, this evening represents much more than a performance.

It's the result of early rehearsals, missed notes, steady improvement and the decision to keep going until the music comes together.

Every student who takes the stage has worked towards this moment.

As an audience member, you'll enjoy a fantastic evening of jazz. You'll also witness something special: young people trusting their preparation, supporting one another and sharing their talents with confidence.

Your child's report tells part of the story.

Tomorrow is your chance to hear the rest.

Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Wednesday from 1.30pm to 6.00pm, providing families with an opportunity to connect directly with the teachers who see their child learn, contribute and grow each day.

A report can show a result. A conversation brings context.

It can uncover strengths that deserve recognition, identify areas where support may help, and provide a clearer picture of your child's learning journey as the year progresses.

If you have booked appointments, they can be viewed through your child's Compass account.

What if this year's nominee becomes next year's student leader?

Last year, Charlotte Stent was recognised as Woman of the Year.

Today, she is our School Captain.

Growth like this rarely happens by accident. It starts when someone steps forward, takes a chance and discovers strengths they didn't know they had.

The most important learning happening at Benowa this Friday won't involve students.

While students enjoy a day away from school, our staff will be spending the day doing exactly what we encourage young people to do every day: learn.

Across the school, teachers and support staff will be participating in professional learning and collaboration designed to strengthen the experience we provide every student.

Last week felt like one giant game of Where’s Wally? as staff across the school turned up in matching costumes for Book Week.
Meanwhile, Mr Eyre took his role as the Cat in the Hat very seriously and somehow ended up with 13 Things following him around campus.
Students laughed. Teachers committed to the bit. Books became the topic of conversation everywhere you looked.
There are plenty of ways to celebrate reading.

When most people watch a race, they notice the driver.

Our Girls in Motorsport students came away talking about engineers, data analysts, technicians and the people making hundreds of decisions behind the scenes.

A day at Queensland Raceway gave them rare access to Objective Racing International Motorsport's garage and pit area, where they were able to see the technology, teamwork and problem-solving that keep a race team operating.

Meeting Supercars driver Cameron Hill offered a glimpse into life behind the wheel, but it also highlighted something important: motorsport creates opportunities for far more people than those sitting in the driver's seat.

For students interested in STEM, experiences like this bring future careers into focus. Suddenly the subjects they're studying at school have a place, a purpose and a real-world application.

What would it take for you to trust a teenager to teach your child?

During National Science Week, students from Ashmore State School and Bellevue Park State School spent the day exploring STEM activities with our Benowa STEM Ambassadors.

More than 600 students took part.

There was plenty of excitement around the activities themselves. Bubbles tended to draw a crowd. So did anything involving physics.

But some of the most interesting moments happened in between.

A small group gathered around a table, working through an idea together.
By the end of the day, it was hard not to notice how naturally many of our students had stepped into the role.

Not because they had all the answers. Because they knew enough to help someone else find them.

Thank you to our STEM Ambassadors, lab technicians and partner schools for helping bring this year's National Science Week theme, Seeds of Science, to life.

The program was supported through a National Science Week grant, funded by an Australian Government initiative that helps schools across Australia engage students in science and STEM.

Most students spend their weekends playing sport on local fields.

Our NFL Flag team recently stepped onto something a little bigger.

During halftime at a Gold Coast Titans match, our students had the opportunity to perform in a professional stadium environment in front of thousands of spectators.

While the experience was unforgettable, what makes us most proud is the confidence, resilience and teamwork our students demonstrated on such a public stage.

These are the moments that help young people grow. The moments that challenge them, inspire them and show them what they’re capable of achieving.

Because some of the most important learning doesn’t happen inside four walls.

It happens when students are given the chance to step up, embrace an opportunity and shine.

Congratulations to our NFL Flag team on representing our school so well.
