🍳 EARN A FREE BREAKFAST + HOUSE POINTS! 🏆

Start your Friday this week with a free barbecue breakfast cooked by Mr Weeks and earn valuable House Points for your House, and more importantly help us and the environment.

Join us from 7:45am on Friday 12 June for Clean Up Benowa High Day. We’ll be working together to collect rubbish around the school and help keep our grounds looking their best.

To be eligible for breakfast and House Points, you must bring a bag of rubbish collected during the clean-up.

A Compass form will be sent out for students to RSVP. Please complete the form so we can cater appropriately and accommodate any dietary requirements.

At Benowa, we take pride in our school environment. By working together, we can create a cleaner, more welcoming school for everyone.

Real opportunities. Real experiences. Real impact. ✨

Some of our amazing Benowa students recently took part in the STEM Girl Power Camp, joining students from across Queensland to explore future pathways in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

During the camp, students travelled to Brisbane to engage in hands-on experiences at universities and research institutions, connect with leading experts and hear from inspiring role models in STEM. They also developed their leadership skills, preparing them to return as ambassadors who actively promote STEM within our school community.

Back at Benowa, these students are now stepping into leadership, supporting initiatives and helping inspire others, particularly during National Science Week. Later in the year, they will also have the opportunity to showcase their work at the STEM Girl Power Summit.

We are proud of the way our students continue to embrace opportunities, represent our school and lead with confidence.

🎓 Join us in celebrating our Bond University Extension Program Graduates! 🎓

Last night, Bond University recognised a group of outstanding Benowa State High School Year 12 students who successfully completed the Bond University Year 12 Extension Program in Business or Mathematics.

A special congratulations to Rahaf Afif, who was awarded a 25% scholarship, and Jakub Haigh, who received a 50% scholarship to attend Bond University next year.

These achievements reflect the students' dedication, academic excellence, and commitment to extending themselves beyond the classroom.

We are incredibly proud of these young people and all they have accomplished.

📢REMINDER: The Sports Cluster Day is tomorrow! (yay to finally having good weather)👏

Students attending cluster sports require hats 🧢, water bottles 💧, food for the day 🥪 (as external venues may not have canteens available), sunscreen 🧴 , any medical requirements (e.g. asthma puffer) and any sport specific equipment.

🟥 Year 7, 8 or 9 students not participating in Cluster Day will have study time in allocated classes. Please be sure to bring your laptops charged and ready.

🟥 Years 10-12 are not required to attend unless in a team competing. All students competing should wear full sports uniform. 🩳

🕷️❤️🖤 Last month, a group of our Year 9 Care Class Leaders and Student Leadership Team members attended Altitude Day at HOTA, joining students from schools across the Gold Coast for a day of learning, collaboration and leadership development.

Facilitated by , the the event challenged students to explore what it means to embrace excellence, step outside their comfort zones and continue growing as leaders within their school communities.

Throughout the day, students participated in discussions, asked thoughtful questions, developed their public speaking skills and reflected on how they can bring new ideas and leadership qualities back to Benowa.

A highlight of the day was hearing from inspiring guest speakers who encouraged students to be bold, brave and to remember that sometimes the most important step is simply getting started.

A special thank you to MBK Projects for generously providing tickets and making this opportunity possible for our students. Your support helps create valuable experiences that inspire the next generation of leaders ☺️
