The State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer emergency service organisation which gives immediate assistance during emergencies and disasters. We also provide community response to 'day to day' incidents such as vehicle accidents, searches, cliff rescues, flood and storm damage situations and any other incidents that might require rescue or search services. The SES is part of a national networ

k of similar services in each State and Territory around Australia. More than 1,600 SES Volunteers are members of 67 Units across South Australia (View location map of Units). Volunteers provide emergency response to the community of South Australia 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The SES also cooperates closely with other statutory emergency services and has storm and flood relief as responsibilities in State legislation. As the Hazard Leader and Control Agency for extreme weather in South Australia, the SES aims to increase community awareness and preparedness relating to extreme weather events. Berri SES were tasked to a job at 4.00 am this morning to a burst water main. 5 crew and 1 crew from Loxton to 4 1/2 hours to pump water out of yard. Good job crew.

Berri unit provided a boat and skipper along with a drone pilot and a micro drone pilot to assist BARMERA SES ANS SAPOL in a missing person search. It ended well with person located.

After a cliff rescue this morning that went for a considerable amount of time. Berri members had 2 hours rest time then went back the katarapko fire grounds to ferry fire fighters back to main land. 2 members will be back to do it again in the morning. Whilst the rest attend a large animal rescue course.
