RULES FOR USING THIS PAGE
This is the online community for Berry Public School in the NSW Department of Education & Communities. We'll try to answer your questions within a few hours of receiving them, from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. We are unable to monitor or respond to comments made on the weekend, but will be back online Monday. General Information
The Berry Public School community has

a culture of care, respect and enrichment which we would like to translate into our online community. We welcome questions and comments from everyone, and ask that you observe the "dinner party" rules of conversation:
by all means have your opinion- it doesn't have to be the same as anyone elses, but no swearing, bullying or criticism of other individuals please. And as with a dinner party, if you are blatantly advertising your own commercial business, we'll all get very bored, very quickly and have to show you the door.

National Sorry Day & Reconciliation Week

Last week, our students recognised National Sorry Day by creating and displaying Native Hibiscus flowers, a symbol of resilience, survival and healing for the Stolen Generations. It was an important time to pause, reflect and learn.

As we continue Reconciliation Week, we reflect on this year’s theme ✨ All In ✨ reminding us that reconciliation is a shared journey built on respect, understanding and connection. Our students also celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures by sharing language from their own Mobs, as well as Dharawal words and greetings, helping us learn, connect and grow together.

A special shout out to Gadhungal Marring. We are grateful for our strong partnership and the opportunities it provides for our students, staff and wider school community.

Yadingji! ❤️💛🖤

Today KS, K/1W, 1/2M, 1/2FM, 2/3K and Mrs Crilley participated in ✨ 📖 National Simultaneous Storytime 📖 ✨

NSS is where millions of children and adults around Australia (and the world) read the same book on the same day! 😍🦘

This year the book selected was "Luna Roo", a story about a soccer loving Kangaroo named Luna, rookie captain of FC Outback. It follows Luna as she leads her team against the tough Bush United. It is a story about overcoming your nerves, tackling challenging situations (like a huntsman spider goalkeeper!) and conquering self doubt, leading Luna to trust her skills and her teammates! 🥅⚽️🏟️

We got to watch an interview with the authors and illustrator as well as having a real life Matilda - Elise Kellond-Knight - read the story and explain why this is such an important book for young boys and girls to embrace all sporting opportunities! 📚🫶🏻

Both the copies we had in the library have already been snapped up and borrowed ready to be shared with parents and siblings at home! 🏠

❤️All Heart!!!❤️
Students raise money for The Royal Children’s Hospital.
Last weekend these amazing students decided to spend a day selling cupcakes, brownies, cookies and lollie bags at Berry Park raising money to donate to The Royal Children’s Hospital.
Such generosity of time and spirit. Well done girls!!!

It’s great to see the Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Prue Car back on deck.
I meet with her regularly in my role on the NSW Primary Principals executive where we focus on solutions to statewide challenges.
Last night’s round table was a great opportunity to focus on local issues.

A huge thanks to Kiama High for hosting the session.

Another wonderful meeting of collaboration with this dedicated group of principals who are relentlessly focused on sharing our strengths to maximise opportunities for all students in the North Shoalhaven Community of Schools.
You’ve gotta check out the amazing new facilities students have at Bomaderry High School, and Mr Morris was thrilled to hear we have a wealth of talented dancers ready to fill their dance studio.

Great to welcome Principals from across our Community of Schools (Berry Public School - Official Site, Bomaderry Public School, Cambewarra Public School, Havenlee School, Illaroo Road Public School, Kangaroo Valley Public School, North Nowra Public School, Shoalhaven Heads Public School) for a planning meeting today.

We are proud to work together to share wins, strengthen practice, and create meaningful opportunities that support every student across their pre K–12 learning journey and beyond.

Our public schools are places where students are known, supported and challenged to achieve their best, with strong partnerships that inspire excellence and future-focused learning.

From early years through to high school, together we are building confident learners and capable leaders who are ready to contribute to their communities.

Reach out to your local public primary school or Bomaderry High School to discover the opportunities available and see how we are inspiring success in every student.
