🚨 Busy Week for NSW SES Volunteers
Flash flooding in the Cooma area and a motor vehicle accident in Welby are just some of the standouts from the past week.
These incidents highlight the ongoing dedication of our volunteers who respond, rain, hail or shine, to keep our communities safe. πŸ™ Thank you to all agencies involved for your teamwork and commitment.

Bigga Unit needs YOU!

The Bigga Unit is currently recruiting, we need people from all walks of life. If you think you might not be the right fit for the SES, think again!

You may not be aware that the NSW SES Bigga Unit is actually a CFR (Community First Responder) unit, this means that they are one of dozens of SES Units that work side by side with NSW Ambulance in rural areas of NSW.

They are usually the first people that arrive when you call Triple-zero (000) and request an ambulance.

This is essential for ensuring a timely response to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest where early access is key to survival.

This capability is staffed purely by people just like you, members of your community looking out for each other and keeping each other safe!

We are currently looking for more members to help keep our CFR unit active, if you feel you may be interested please get in contact.

If you're interested or have any questions at all please don't wait, get in contact with us!

Send us a message, we're happy to help.

Devastating news out of Ipswich
Thinking of you all in this difficult time RIP

We are extremely saddened to learn that an SES volunteer has died while responding to a call for assistance in Coolana, north-west of Ipswich, overnight. Their vehicle was swept from the road by flooding, three other volunteers were rescued.

Floods are unforgiving and take so easily. Our thoughts are with all Queenslanders today as they face flooding on a large scale.

Sandy Creek crossing on Grabine Road is still flooded please don't drive through it road closed signs are in place if its flooded forget it stay safe everyone

The NSW Police Force will be using the emergency alert system to help locate vulnerable people in our community who are missing.

If you receive a text from the 0444 444 444 number, it is not a scam. This number belongs to the Australian Emergency Alert System and is used during floods, fires and other emergency situations.

For more information on the emergency alert system head to https://www.emergencyalert.gov.au

The NSW Police Force is now using geo-targeting to locate high risk missing persons, sending emergency alerts to mobiles in the area where the person went missing.

We remind you that if you receive a text message from 0444 444 444 this is an official alert to seek your assistance. This text will provide you with information and a link to an image.
