Banana Shire Libraries Banana Shire Libraries and Information Services: Connecting the Community Interlibrary loans and community language resources are available on request.

The Banana Shire Library & Information Service serves an area of 28,577 sq kms operating a central library at Biloela, branch libraries at Moura, Taroom and Theodore, and a Mobile Library Service to seven townships in the Shire. Friendly staff at our libraries can assist you with your reading and information needs. There are approximately 52,000 resources including books (large print and standard)

, magazines, newspapers, audio books, music CDs, videos, DVDs, and graphic novels available for loan. Suggestions for purchase are encouraged for items that are current and popular. There are a range of community activities on offer for a range of ages and even a Home Library service for those unable to access the library. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government. Join us for a special Baby Bounce session delivered in partnership with local health professionals.

Sing, read, and play at this weekly F5F session, then stick around for a free parent education session presented by Speech Pathology, Dietetics, and Child Health Nursing. You’ll receive practical, evidence-based information about introducing solids safely and confidently.

Suitable for parents and caregivers of babies aged approximately 4–8 months.

🦹‍♀️Come along to our special Story Time sessions dressed as your favourite book character and join in the fun.

We’re also inviting young artists to enter our colouring competition for a chance to win a prize. Simply submit your colourful masterpiece to your local library by❗28 August❗.

Some of our library staff had the wonderful opportunity to attend First 5 Forever workshops in Rockhampton this week.

It was a fantastic few days of connecting with other libraries from across the region, learning from one another, and discovering new ways to enhance the services we provide! 🎨✂️

We’re excited to continue growing and supporting our communities with some fresh ideas and inspiration ✨

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Moura library has closed for this afternoon and the weekend. Normal operating hours will resume again on Monday 6th July. The Information desk will remain open during this time.
