DISABILITY ACCESS & INCLUSION PLAN 2026-2030 ANNOUNCEMENT

The Shire of Chittering is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, accessible and engaged community through the delivery of our services, programs and facilities.

The Shire of Chittering’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2026–2030 outlines our commitment to building an accessible, inclusive and welcoming community where people of all abilities can participate fully in civic life.

The Plan sets out practical actions across seven outcome areas, ensuring people with disability have the same opportunities as others to access Shire services, events, buildings, facilities, information, consultation processes and employment.

While the DAIP focuses on improving access for people with disability, many initiatives benefit the broader community, including parents with prams, older residents, visitors, families, people experiencing mental health challenges, and anyone who relies on clear communication, safe pathways, or accessible facilities.

The DAIP was lodged with the Department of Communities on 5 May 2026 and will be implemented from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2030. Progress against the outcomes will be reported annually to ensure the Plan is effectively delivered over this period.

To view the plan, please click below to be redirected to the Shire of Chittering's website.
