Vale: Les Blair – A Founder’s Legacy
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Les Blair, a highly respected founding member of SES Birchip Unit.
Les was more than a First Responder; he laid the foundation 44 years ago in December 1982.
His unwavering commitment to providing emergency services stemmed from a deep devotion to our community.
For years, Les dedicated himself to establishing Birchip SES, consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership, kindness, resilience, and a genuine desire to assist others. He embodied the principle that leadership is not about titles, but about serving where one is needed most. His passion was contagious, and his impact will be felt for generations to come. Les’s legacy is ingrained in every life touched by SES Birchip Unit. While he will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to inspire the work we do.
Rest easy, Blairy… Your duty is done, and you have left us a better, stronger community.
His legacy will endure in every life saved or helped.
Our sincerest condolences are extended to his wife Lynn, family and friends during this difficult time.

A graveside service at Birchip will be held Wednesday 11th March at 1pm.
