🏉 Sydney West Touch Football Championships 🏉
A huge congratulations to Te-Reinga, Lilieta and Rose (Girls) and Levi (Boys) for proudly representing Blackett Public School and the Mt Druitt Zone at the Sydney West Touch Football Championships.
Our girls displayed outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork and determination throughout the day. Although they were unfortunately unsuccessful in progressing to the semi-finals, they should be incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school and zone.
The Mt Druitt boys were undefeated throughout the entire day, showcasing exceptional skill, teamwork and resilience in every match. Their efforts culminated in an exciting Grand Final victory over Castle Hill, winning 5–4 in an incredibly hard-fought contest. Levi was a crucial member of the team, making significant contributions throughout the tournament and playing an important role in the Grand Final success.
A special congratulations to Mrs Carter, one of the boys' coaches, whose passion, leadership and determination helped guide the team through an undefeated campaign to become Sydney West Champions. We would also like to sincerely thank Mr Cooper for his support and commitment to the girls' team throughout the day.
Well done to all of our students and staff involved—we are incredibly proud of your achievements and the outstanding way you represented Blackett Public School and the Mt Druitt Zone! 💚💛

📚✨ Blackett Public School Book Sale is Here! ✨📚

At Blackett Public School, we know that strong readers become confident learners. As part of our commitment to improving literacy outcomes and fostering a love of reading, we are excited to launch our weekly Book Sale initiative!

Every Wednesday morning, students and families will have the opportunity to purchase pre-loved books at affordable prices. Not only will students be able to discover exciting new stories, but every purchase will help us continue to grow the learning opportunities available to our students.

📖 Why books?
Research shows that regular reading supports vocabulary development, comprehension, imagination, writing skills and overall academic success. By putting more books into the hands of our students, we are helping to build a culture where reading is valued, celebrated and enjoyed.

💙 Every dollar raised will go directly towards new literacy materials and resources to support student learning across our school.

📍 When: Every Wednesday Morning (until sold out!)
⏰ Time: 8:30am – 8:55am
📍 Where: Literacy & Numeracy Hub, C Block (across from K Malya)

Whether your child is a budding bookworm or just discovering the joy of reading, we encourage families to come along and find a new favourite book.

📚 Together, we can inspire a lifelong love of reading and support our literacy goals at Blackett Public School. We look forward to seeing you there! 💙💛
