Blacktown Greens On Darug Country

Authorised by N. Ward for The Greens NSW, 19/1 Hordern Place Camperdown NSW 2050.

Blacktown Greens have been a positive force in Blacktown for the past 15 years and the reason for that is quite simply that we have a profound understanding of local issues as they are the same issues which we live with year in and year out. Issues such as the lack of Mental Health facilities at Mount Druitt hospital or the failure to deliver decent public transport to Seven Hills or the protectio

n of our quickly disappearing woodlands, these are only some of the challenges facing Blacktown but each is an issue that we as individuals understand and come together as a group to solve. Under the guidance of the the four pillars of:
Social and economic justice,
Ecological sustainability,
Grassroots democracy and
Peace and nonviolence
we will continue to work on these issues until such a time that our liberties are guaranteed, our planet is secure for future and current generations alike, and not just for homo-sapiens either and until such a time that each every individual who calls New South Wales home lives in the fair and equitable society that every human being has a right to. If this sounds like the change you would like to see and be apart of we would love to hear from you.

Some excellent points are made here about the advantages of youth hubs. Well said, Amanda!

Some excellent points are made here about the advantages of youth hubs. Well said, Amanda!

Young people across the state have told me that they need more safe spaces in their local communities to connect, in person, for free. Youth hubs support individual and community well-being - and they're a lot cheaper than the mental health services or criminal justice responses they prevent!

The NSW government has just funded research to map youth spaces and identify gaps - but they haven't committed to funding the spaces and services needed to fill those gaps.

Do you believe that disabled people deserve to live life to the fullest, making their own choices and receiving the support they need to do what others more fortunate take for granted?

Do you think it would be shameful for a wealthy country like Australia to deprive 240,000 people of the support that makes their lives liveable?

Do you think the government should make billionaires and big coporations pay their fair share of tax instead of whittling down the opportunities for disabled people to have social lives and participate in the community?

If you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, please join like-minded people at Sydney Town Hall at 10.00 a.m. this Saturday for the National Day of Action to .
