The Briagolong Bush Band has been performing local and far flung venues since 1980 and has played at most major festivals.

They’ve released 10 albums with members winning awards and playing with some of Australia’s best known musicians, both here and overseas.

And they’re our very own local band!

‘Vocal Nosh’ at Boisdale Hall on Sunday 26th July

Vocal Nosh combines a session of singing simple, easily learned songs with sharing a heart-warming meal of homemade soup and crusty bread.

Singing together is important for our social and emotional wellbeing as well as having health benefits through deep breathing, engaging memory and the release of endorphins – the body’s natural way to reduce stress. This is not about being a ‘good’ singer but about loving the sound that is made by many voices joining together, and being part of that sound.

Jenny Candy will be leading us and if you’ve never sung in a large group before, you’ll be amazed at how quickly she can guide us into creating beautiful harmonies.

So come and join us for a wonderful time of music making and good food!

$500,000 Boost for Boisdale Netball Facilities

Community netball in Wellington Shire is set for a major upgrade, with the Boisdale Recreation Reserve Multipurpose Court Redevelopment securing $500,000 through the 2025–26 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.

The funding will help deliver a redeveloped netball court, improved lighting and additional multipurpose court capacity at the Boisdale Recreation Reserve, home of the Boisdale Briagolong Football Netball Club.

Netball Victoria has welcomed the funding announcement, highlighting the importance of quality facilities in supporting participation, improving safety and creating more accessible and inclusive spaces for players, officials, volunteers and spectators.

The redevelopment is expected to improve safety, reduce injury risks and provide greater opportunities for women and girls to participate in netball, while also creating a more versatile space for broader community use.

With construction-ready plans already in place, the project is expected to be delivered within the next 12 months, providing a modern facility that will support local sport and community activity for years to come.

A fantastic result for Boisdale and the wider Wellington Shire community.
