Recently Benwerrin Station was broken into.
Due to this Benwerrin was out of service over the weekend but we are back in service now.

Outside of affecting our operational status, some equipment has been taken and our trucks ransacked.

We want to remind people, we are volunteers supporting the community.
We don't get paid.
All of the taken equipment has been paid for by fundraising, donations and grants and is not supplied. Its equipment we sought out to fundraise and purchase to increase our capability.

Anyone with any information regarding this is encouraged to contact the NSW Police assistance hotline on 131 444

🔥 𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐭 💨

We have had a number of community members express concern about the ongoing smoke coverage through the Hunter Valley.

This smoke drift is coming primarily from the fire burning between Nerong and Tea Gardens, which is burning at a Watch and Act level and is not yet under control.

There will also be some minor smoke drift coming from the Oyster Cove fire (near Medowie), this will diminish over the next few hours/days as this fire has already been brought under control.
