Did you know that donations to Salt Care are tax deductible?

With 30 June just around the corner, now is a great time to make a donation that supports real people in the Shoalhaven while also making a difference to your tax return this financial year.

Every dollar goes directly into the work we do in our community, from emergency shelter and food relief, to housing support, disability services and addiction recovery.
You can donate through our I Said Yes campaign, or via our website: https://www.salt.org.au/donate/

Even a small contribution makes a meaningful difference to someone's life. Thank you for considering it.

Salt Care runs on the generosity of over 140 volunteers across the Shoalhaven, and we are always looking for kind, committed people to join our team.

There are a number of roles we are currently looking to fill:
- Evening support at Safe Shelter (5pm to 10pm shifts)
- Cooks to help prepare meals for people in need
- Salt Store volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30am to 1pm
- Drivers to collect donated groceries throughout the week
- Bookstore volunteers at our Salt Bookstore in Bomaderry
- Farm volunteers on Fridays

Volunteering with Salt is a chance to show up for your community in a way that genuinely matters. Every shift, every meal prepared, every bag of groceries packed makes a real difference to a real person.

If any of these roles sound like you, we would love to hear from you. Complete an expression of interest on our website or email us at [email protected].

There are no words big enough to thank our Salt Store volunteers, but we're going to try.

Week after week, rain, hail or shine, our incredible team shows up to serve the people in our community who need it most. Recently, with the rain absolutely bucketing down, they rolled up their sleeves, put smiles on their faces and got on with it. Soaked from helping people to their cars, freezing cold from standing in the wind, numb fingers from handling frozen food all morning, and still going. Still smiling and pouring out kindness and joy to every single person who walked through our doors.

That kind of dedication is something special. It doesn't go unnoticed, and it doesn't go unappreciated.

To every one of our Salt Store volunteers, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts.

There's still time to make a tax deductible donation to Salt Care before 30 June.

If you've been thinking about it, now is the moment. Every dollar donated before the end of the financial year supports real people in the Shoalhaven facing homelessness, food insecurity, family hardship and more, and every dollar over $2 is fully tax deductible.

You can donate in just a few clicks at https://www.salt.org.au/donate/

Thank you for considering it. Your generosity makes this work possible.

For many people who come through our doors at Salt Care, finding a safe place to sleep is just the beginning of the journey.

Our accommodation programs are designed to walk alongside people every step of the way, from crisis housing when someone needs somewhere safe tonight, through to supported transitional housing as they start to rebuild, and all the way to independent living when they're ready to take that next step on their own terms.

We believe that stable housing is not a privilege. It is a foundation. When someone has a safe place to call home, everything else becomes possible. Healing, connection, employment, family - it all starts with a door to walk through.

We believe our Safe Shelter guests deserve more than just a bed for the night.

This is our fresh produce garden, where we grow vegetables and herbs that go straight into the meals our incredible volunteers serve our guests. It's a small patch of ground, but what it represents is something much bigger - the belief that everyone deserves to be nourished, not just fed.

Good food, good care, that's what we want our guests to experience.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who show up every week to make that happen. You bring so much more than just an extra pair of hands.

The days are getting shorter and the temperature is dropping, and for many people in our community that means things are about to get a lot harder.

Winter is one of the busiest times of year for Salt Care. Demand for warm meals, emergency shelter and essential supplies increases, and we want to make sure we're ready to meet it.

If you have warm clothing, blankets, coats or non-perishable food items to spare, we would love to receive them at the Salt Store in Bomaderry. Every donation goes directly to someone in our community who needs it.

And if you're in a position to make a financial contribution, you can do so through the I Said Yes campaign on our website.

Thank you for helping us look after our community this winter.
