Our members assisted yesterday in a land search for a member of the public reported missing by his family. We are glad to support our neighbours at NSW SES Randwick Unit and NSW Police.
๐จ Update: Search Operation at Maroubra
Today (Wednesday 5 August 2026), Eastern Beaches Police Area Command conducted a coordinated search operation in the South Maroubra and Malabar Headland area as part of an ongoing missing person investigation involving an 82-year-old man.
๐ We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the NSW SES Randwick Unit and all SES volunteers who assisted throughout today's operation.
๐ทโโ๏ธ The support provided by members from the Randwick, Marrickville, Waverley-Woollahra, Parramatta, Ashfield-Leichhardt, Campbelltown, North Sydney, Penrith, Heathcote/Menai, The Hills, Ryde, Liverpool and Manly Units was invaluable in assisting Eastern Beaches Police and specialist NSW Police resources during the search.
๐ The dedication, professionalism and commitment demonstrated by these volunteers is greatly appreciated. Their willingness to give their time in support of the community plays a vital role in search and rescue operations and reflects the strong partnership between emergency service agencies.

There is no ongoing risk to the community.
๐ฎโโ๏ธ Members of the public may have noticed an increased presence of police and emergency service personnel in the area throughout the day. The missing person investigation remains ongoing.
