ULTIMO | Building collapse at Wattle Street, Ultimo. FRNSW and emergency services are on scene after part of a building collapsed at a construction site next to a service station.

Two people have been taken to hospital and nearby buildings evacuated. Specialist urban search and rescue crews are on scene to assess the site.

Please avoid Wattle Street and Kelly Street while crews work. Updates to follow. Check Live Traffic NSW for road updates.

Did you know?

Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights had it's 25th Birthday this year 🎂.

On the 4th June 2001, Bonnyrigg Heights Fire Station was officially opened. The station's first appliance was an International Acco fire truck (pictured). This appliance was a strong reliable fire truck and still an old favourite amongst some of our seasoned firefighters.
This was later upgraded to a FirePac appliance (pictured).

We are proud to have served the Bonnyrigg community and surrounds for the past 25 years with courage, respect and integrity. We will continue to serve the area well into the future.

Fire and Rescue NSW extends its condolences to the family and community of three people who have sadly died in a house fire at Wiley Park overnight.

Our fire investigators are working with NSW Police forensic officers to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

Farewell to our Senior Man, Paul Cameron (9239)

Today we farewell our Senior Man, Paul Cameron (9239), as he embarks on a new journey at Badgerys Creek Fire Station, bringing his wealth of rescue knowledge and local expertise to Western Sydney Airport as it prepares to go live.

Often referred to as our Station Sergeant, Paul’s calm demeanour, firefighting experience and rescue expertise have been invaluable throughout his 18 years at Station 101. He has trained and mentored countless firefighters and played a key role in developing the rescue capabilities of our crew.

Paul’s professionalism, knowledge and willingness to help others have made a lasting impact on Station 101 and the many firefighters he has worked alongside over the years.

We’re looking forward to a Cali Burger run and a catch-up soon, but until then we wish you all the very best for this next chapter.

Thanks, PC, for everything you’ve done for our crew and Station 101. You’ll be missed, mate.

Heaters need space. A lot of it.

Keep curtains, bedding, lounges, throws and drying racks at least one metre away.

Switch them off before you leave the room or go to bed. Never use outdoor heaters indoors.

More than just fires !

Fire and Rescue NSW Station 101 Bonnyrigg Heights would like to congratulate the twenty-four personnel who have successfully completed the 2026 Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Category 2 Rescue Technician Course, further strengthening FRNSW’s specialist rescue capability and readiness for future deployments.

Delivered over four weeks at the Emergency Services Academy, the course brought together twenty Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters and four NSW Ambulance paramedics. Participants were challenged across rope rescue, technical search, heavy lifting, shoring, cutting and breaching, navigation, field operations and disaster response coordination before finishing with a demanding three-day Major Exercise Assessment.

Well done all !!
