If you’re flying a drone near a bushfire, that means our aircraft can’t.

Our crews often need to fly lower than the usual, which means they may be grounded if drones are operating in the area.

We know fires can look impressive from above, but please keep the skies clear so our aerial firefighting units can do what they do best.

πŸš’πŸ”₯ A GREAT MORNING OUT WITH THE HERVEY BAY GROUP BRIGADES! πŸ”₯πŸš’

What a fantastic morning out for East Booral RFB, joining forces with crews from across the Hervey Bay Group to assist Dundowran RFB with an HR burn.

With a great turnout from:

πŸš’ Nikenbah RFB
πŸš’ Takura RFB
πŸš’ Toogoom RFB
πŸš’ Burrum Heads RFB
πŸš’ River Heads – Kingfisher RFB

Together, crews worked through around 40 stacks, putting teamwork, communication and fireground skills into practice while supporting a local landholder.

These days are about more than just getting the job done β€” they’re about building capability, strengthening relationships between brigades and being ready to respond when our communities need us.

A massive thank you to all the crews who came along and put in the hard yards. πŸ‘

This is the Rural Fire Service at its best β€” brigades working together, supporting each other and protecting our communities. πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

Well done everyone! πŸš’πŸ‘
