🚒 Training Day – Overall Fuel Load Assessments 🌿
Today, members from East Booral Rural Fire Brigade, alongside other local brigades, spent the morning in the training room learning about Overall Fuel Load Assessments and the correct methods for conducting them.
After the theory component, we headed out into the field on a beautiful Booral day to put our training into practice on a local property. Using a moisture meter, we conducted three fuel moisture assessments, recording ground fuel moisture content readings of 108.5%, 49.9%, and 29.6% along with our Overall Fuel Load.
These assessments play an important role in helping us understand local fuel conditions and better prepare for future fire seasons.
A great day of learning, teamwork, and practical experience was topped off with a well-earned BBQ lunch.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the day a success. It was fantastic to see such strong participation and commitment to ongoing training and community safety.
🔥🚒 Well done to all involved!
