Don't miss the fabulous works by Shirley Dougan and others available for your viewing pleasure at Miller's Homestead...

Shirley's landscape takes us through the hills of the Yarra Valley, awash with colour. Look closely, and you can see the varying shapes and textures used in the formation of the trees and flowers.

Enticed by this scenery? Make the most of the sunshine and come out to the hills to see the Miller's Homestead exhibition! You can view the works of our society members on site on weekdays from 9:30am-5pm.

There's a wonderful exhibition on right now titled ART of the Doll. Some of the works may be inspired by characters from children's books or popular TV shows? Other works look like they may be inspired by P.G.Wodehouse characters, or perhaps inspired by J.J.Miller himself? The property looks magnificent , inside and out, except it is dry in a few places and far too dry in one place in particular.

The frog-pond is like a desert. Poor frogs , we hope they found another home. Perhaps the council can give the pond a drink or fix the leak.

Get along to the exhibition. It's our wonderful community asset, and we should make sure we keep using it and loving it .. Cr Jude Dwight - Deputy Mayor, Knox Council Knox City

Art inspires, informs, guides us, soothes, motivates , enables communication, connects us with nature, humanity, ourselves. Art in its many forms helps the human condition in so many ways. Good reasons to get along to this event at Millers homestead.

Here's a great chance to visit one of Knox's other historic homesteads. Ambleside is a little younger than Millers and is the home of the Knox Historical Society.

It's not long now!!

Just four sleeps and a few nanny naps until the big day. :)

The Ambleside Christmas Twilight Craft Market kicks off at 6 p.m. Saturday 10 December.

Bring the grandchildren, meet Santa at 7 p.m., take a walk along Chestnut Avenue and marvel at all the wonderful Christmas lights.

For a happy fun-filled family focussed evening try Ambleside historic homestead, 3 Olivebank Rd., Ferntree Gully, 6 p.m. Saturday 10 December.

This is wonderful news. Councillors have voted to extend the Eastern Regional Libraries tenancy of Miller's Homestead.

Thanks to everybody who helped save Millers.

Here’s a good reason to pay attention to what’s going on in local government. Here’s hoping the council continues to support Millers and resolves to make it even better.

On Monday night, Council will meet to:

• Review Eastern Regional Libraries’ pilot tenancy at Miller’s Homestead
• Provide an update on the rollout of kerbside reforms, including a new food and garden bin service
