The RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Art Competition 2027 is open for entries!

Primary and secondary school students in NSW are encouraged to create a piece of art inspired by this year’s theme, which is The Power of Mateship.

This theme focuses on one of the most meaningful parts of the ANZAC Spirit - looking out for others, standing together, and showing kindness in difficult times.

Share this post with your family, friends, and the young artists in your life to encourage them to get creative and pay tribute to Australia’s servicemen and women.

The RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Art Competition is a collaboration between the NSW Department of Education, Catholic Schools NSW, and Independent Schools NSW.

More information about the theme, how the competition works and how to enter can be found here: https://rslnsw.org.au/artcompetition/

Great afternoon spent with our veterans and families coming together for some well-deserved refreshments, good company, and plenty of conversation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and apologies we didn’t manage to get everyone in the photos this time.

We look forward to catching up again soon. 🌺

Lest we forget

RSL NSW extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Special Air Service Regiment soldier Warrant Officer Class Two Lachlan Muddle, who tragically lost his life during a parachuting training incident at Jervis Bay Airfield, on the state’s south coast.

Our thoughts are also with the other soldier injured in the incident, and with the broader Defence community at this difficult time.

Training accidents are a stark reminder of the risks our servicemen and women continue to face in service to the nation, both here at home and abroad.

We ask that the privacy of those affected be respected.

We honour the service and sacrifice of all Australian Defence Force personnel who continue to put themselves in harm’s way in service of our country.

Lest we forget 🌺

Botany RSL Sub-Branch was honoured to accompany students from St Bernard’s Catholic School, Botany, on a tour of the Kokoda Track Memorial yesterday.

It was fantastic to see our young people immersed in such a meaningful hands-on educational experience, learning about the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of those who served.

Opportunities like these help ensure the spirit and stories of our veterans continue to be remembered and carried forward by future generations.

Yesterday’s Veterans and Families Lunch was a lovely chance to catch up, share stories and enjoy great company.

It was also wonderful to wish Pam a very happy 80th birthday from last month.

Not many photos this time, but plenty of great memories.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Botany RSL Sub-Branch would like to sincerely thank Daceyville Public School for the honour of being invited to participate in your Anzac Day service.

It was a privilege to stand alongside your students and staff as we reflected on the courage, sacrifice and spirit of those who have served our nation. Seeing the next generation engage so thoughtfully in remembrance gives great confidence that the Anzac legacy will endure.
