A hospital is made up of more than buildings and services. It's people like Pauline, born at the hospital and raised in the community, whose kindness and dedication have touched the lives of our community for almost 40 years.

Starting on a three-month contract, she's held a range of roles over nearly four decades and is now a Private Patient Officer. For Pauline, it's the people who make it special.

"Sometimes people just need someone to listen and reassure them that everything will be okay."
From supporting patients through surgery to being recognised around town as 'the lady that works at the hospital', Pauline's kindness has left a lasting impact on countless members of our community.

We are proud to recognise Pauline's nearly 40 years of service and thank her for the care, compassion and commitment she continues to bring to Bowral & District Hospital every day. 👏 💚

And a special shout out to pet therapy doggo Riley, pictured with Pauline 🐕‍🦺

Confession time... when was the last time you replaced your toothbrush? 👀

Dental Health Week is your friendly reminder to refresh your oral health routine. Looking after your oral health isn't just about having a bright smile, it's an important part of your overall health and wellbeing.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your smile healthy:
- Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste 🪥
- Floss your teeth every day and change your toothbrush every 3 months or when it looks worn 🦷
- Drink plenty of tap water and limit sugary or alcoholic drinks 💧
- Aim for a healthy, balanced diet 🥗
- Visit your dentist for regular check-ups, usually every 6–12 months 📅
- Avoid smoking or va**ng 🚭
- Reduce stress, as it can contribute to teeth grinding, mouth ulcers and cold sores. 🧘

Your future smile will thank you. 😁

Did you know that most Australians support organ and tissue donation, but only one-third have registered?

If that’s you, take a minute to register as an organ and tissue donor at donatelife.gov.au or through Medicare.

Every year people die waiting for a transplant. One organ donor can save the lives of up to 7 people and change many more through eye and tissue donation.

Join the register at DonateLife : https://www.donatelife.gov.au/register-donor-today

We proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week, recognising the rich cultures, histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year's theme, "Fifty Years of Deadly" marks a milestone. It’s a tribute to the people who built this movement.

Together, we honour the strength, resilience and enduring connection to Country of First Nations peoples, and recognise their contributions to our communities and healthcare.
