Argyle Housing Providing Social and Affordable housing for low to moderate incomes, along with services, support and resources to build a better future for our communities🪴

Argyle Housing 'A better future for our Communities'

Argyle Housing is a community-managed, not-for-profit, housing organisation. Our main objective is to provide and manage secure, sustainable housing for people on low to moderate incomes who would otherwise struggle to find accommodation and for disadvantaged people who need support in order to maintain independent living. As a community housin

g service provider we are responsive to local needs and are committed to building sustainable communities in areas of need. We are committed to assisting our clients and their communities achieve a better future. To underpin this commitment we will build a financially strong and economically viable organisation. As our property portfolio grows so do our opportunities to acquire more housing, leverage economies of scale and become more innovative in creating solutions to provide accommodation to those in need. This in turn further strengthens our operating base and provides greater security for our tenants. As a community housing provider, Argyle Housing actively encourages it’s tenants to be involved in the organisation’s activities. This involvement helps our tenants build social capital, reduces isolation and teaches new skills. It also provides Argyle Housing with a valuable source of knowledge and information about the communities we operate in and how we can better service these communities. Regardless of our future growth or corporate structure, this inclusive legacy will remain.

Community Connections & Wellbeing Day + Creative Space's 9th Birthday

Today, we celebrated Community Connections & Wellbeing Day in Bowral, alongside the 9th Birthday of Creative Space Community Outreach! 🎉

It was wonderful to bring together community members and local services for a day of connection, celebration and wellbeing, in support of R U OK? Day and the incredible work Creative Space does in our community.

The day featured activities, support and information from Highlands Youth Cafe, Erratic Ally, Carer Gateway, SSI, Highlands Community Centre, Creative Space, Hearing Australia, Joyful Sounds for Healing and Refined Moves.

At our Argyle Housing stall, we focused on community connection and growing together. Attendees were invited to plant parsley and mini pansies, while sharing what community means to them.

Community means connection, support, belonging and looking out for one another, and it was so lovely to see that reflected throughout the day.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, connected with others and helped make the day such a special celebration!

A little planning goes a long way!

We know Christmas is fast approaching, and a little planning now can help make the festive season feel more manageable later.

If you’re able to, start thinking about what you can comfortably put aside for Christmas:

💰 Set aside what you can
🎁 Plan your gift budget
📝 Make a list and shop to your budget
🏠 Keep rent, bills and everyday essentials a priority

You don’t need to save a lot all at once, small steps today can mean less financial pressure later.

🏡Regional housing requires regional partnerships.

We were proud to have our CEO, Carolyn Doherty, speak at the Country Mayors Association of NSW meeting at NSW Parliament House last week.

The meeting brought together regional Mayors and senior leaders from across NSW, including NSW Housing Minister the Hon. Rose Jackson MLC, NSW Opposition Leader Ms Kellie Sloane MP, Shadow Housing Minister the Hon. Chris Rath MLC, Homes NSW CEO Rebecca Pinkstone, and representatives from the NSW Grants Commission, IPART and the Office of Local Government.

Carolyn highlighted how collaboration across government, local councils and community housing can turn housing need into practical outcomes, from Griffin Green in Griffith to the Tolland Renewal in Wagga Wagga.

Together, we can deliver more housing, stronger communities and better outcomes for regional NSW.

The new Ngumbaaydyil Community Hub will create a welcoming place for the Griffith community to connect, access support and take part in activities.

While there have been some roadblocks, including recent vandalism, we’re looking forward to opening the doors and welcoming the community.

We ask everyone to help protect this shared space. If you see suspicious activity or damage, please report it.

Who you can contact if you witness any suspicious activity:
