Also on the past weekend Whitehorse SES along with our neighboring units sent volunteers to support deployments in Gippsland. They went to help sandbagging using the regional machine, door knocking and Land Based Swift Water Rescue technicians.

Now is the time to put your hand up to join us.

It has been a busy few days for your Whitehorse SES volunteers - attending to more than 20 requests for assistance across both Whitehorse and Boroondara.

With all the intense rain, trees have come down blocking roads, access to properties and leaves blocked gutters causing water build up and then building damage.

Our volunteer intake for 2027 closes in November. If you’ve ever thought about joining us, we’d welcome the extra hands!

🚨 Thunderstorms and rain are forecast across much of Victoria from tomorrow through to the weekend, so now is the time to prepare. Ensure to:

✅ Secure loose outdoor furniture and other items
✅ Park vehicles undercover and away from trees
✅ Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater

🏕️ If you're camping these school holidays, choose your campsite carefully and have a plan if conditions change. Remember to:

▶ Camp away from trees and overhanging branches
▶ Set up on higher ground, away from creeks, rivers and streams
▶ Know your camping ground's emergency plan
▶ Set a watch zone for your campsite in the VicEmergency app
