Community-based, not-for-profit swim school established in 1904, delivering swim and dive lessons, squad training and water safety programs for children, teens and adults across Melbourne’s north-east and eastern suburbs. Surrey Park Swimming is a community-based, not-for-profit swim school established in 1904, delivering structured swimming and diving education for children, teens and adults across Melbourne’s north-east and eastern suburbs. We operate Learn to Swim, Learn to Dive, squad training and water safety programs at Blackburn, Heidelberg and Aqualink Box Hill, supporting swimmers from their first water experience through to confident, capable participation, lifelong enjoyment and competitive pathways. Select locations feature magnesium mineral-water pools, offering a gentler alternative to traditional chlorinated pools and creating a calmer, more comfortable learning environment for many swimmers. Surrey Park Swimming delivers programs at dedicated swim school sites in Blackburn and Heidelberg, and within the Aqualink Box Hill aquatic facility. General venue operations and casual swimming access at Aqualink Box Hill are managed by the facility operator.

☀️ The Surrey Park Masters Aggregate is back! 🏊‍♂️

The spring/summer season is officially underway, with a beautiful sunny Sunday bringing our Masters swimmers back to the blocks for the first Aggregate session of the season! 💙

The Aggregate is all about accuracy over speed, with swimmers earning points for getting closest to their nominated times across four events: 25m, 50m, 100m and 200m. There were plenty of smiles, some fantastic PBs and even a few club records along the way! 👏

A special congratulations to Masters Coach George and Bianca on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Nina Jasmine! Sunday morning coffee was the perfect opportunity for the club to meet its newest little member. ☕️👶

Try. Practise. Try again.

And then one day, something that once felt difficult starts to feel familiar.
That’s how swimming confidence grows.

Children don’t become confident because we tell them to be confident.

• They become confident through doing.
• Through practising.
• Through discovering, “I can do this.”

It might take a few lessons. It might take many.

What matters is giving them the opportunity to keep trying.

Confidence grows through doing.

Welcome to Term 4 for all our Blackburn swimmers, Aqualink Box Hill Divers and Mon to Fri AM swimmers.
We’re excited to see everyone returning to the pool throughout the week. A new term is always a great chance to build on skills, grow confidence, and keep making progress in the water
Remember, families can receive a 25% discount on the second student enrolment when enrolling them into two lessons each week.

Adding an extra lesson before Summer is one of the best ways to boost progression and strengthen swimming skills. Just speak to a member of our Customer Service team. We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.

It was a huge final day of racing with everyone dipping in for the finals session!

🏊 Adam — 18th Men’s 200 Butterfly + 3rd Age Group 🥉
🏊 Jesse — 9th Men’s 1500 Freestyle
🏊 Nasia — 29th Women’s 50 Freestyle, 30th Women’s 100 IM
🏊 Tanin — 26th Men’s 100 IM

Our relay teams also finished strongly:

What does swimming confidence look like?
It depends on the child.
• For one swimmer, it might be putting their face underwater.
• For another, it might be floating without help.
• Swimming a little further.
• Jumping in.
• Or simply joining their lesson without needing reassurance.

These moments might look small from the side of the pool, but to a child, they can feel huge.
This October, our focus is Getting Summer Ready and we’re encouraging families to notice what their swimmer can do now that once felt difficult.

Because every swimmer is different.
And so is their confidence.

Day 1 heats of Australian Open SC champs done and dusted!

A great hit out this morning with some awesome swims across the board, and we’re excited to have a few Surrey Park swimmers heading back for finals tonight.

Cici: Women’s 100 Breaststroke C Final
Aidan & Anthony: Men’s 100 Backstroke C Final
Nasia: Women’s 50 Fly B Final

We’ve also got two teams lining up for the Mixed 4x50m Medley Relay, with both our A and B teams taking to the blocks tonight.
