Global retail e-commerce sales reached US$3.5 trillion in 2019, representing 13.7% of total retail sales. It is estimated that retail e-commerce sales will make up 20% of total retail sales by 2023. This presents a great opportunity for Australian exporters to consider exporting through online channels.

Canberra Business Chamber, ACT Government and Austrade (Tradestart) have partnered to deliver a cross border e-commerce workshop, presented by Austrade’s Jack Lu, Senior Adviser, e-Commerce.

Welcome to 2020 and a new year to give recognition to the Territory's hardworking exporting organisations! Since the new year is a time for celebration, let's kick it off by acknowledging last year's National winner in Technology and Innovation - ACT based business, Seeing Machines! ACT's exporting success doesn't stop with 2019 though, stay tuned for the launch of this year's 2020 ACT Export Awards.

Instaclustr has been an integral player for ACT in the realm of tech exporting and innovation, offering a suite of enterprise software management solutions and services for some of the largest scale big data applications and deployments.

Last year alone they took on some significant international clients including Dream11, India's largest fantasy sports platform, and Epic Games, creators of the world-renowned game Fortnite. While they didn't take the silverware home this year, their efforts are still golden in our book and we highly commend them for their achievements.
