NSW SES - Braidwood Unit

NSW SES - Braidwood Unit Braidwood Unit of the NSW State Emergency Service is the combat agency for Storms, Floods and Tsunami

The NSW State Emergency Service is an emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community. It is made up almost entirely of volunteers, with 228 units located throughout New South Wales. The units comprise of approximately 10,000 volunteer members, who are easily identified by their distinctive orange overalls. While our major responsibilities are for flood and storm operations, the

NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the State. This includes road accident rescue, vertical rescue, bush search and rescue, evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural) and other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats. Volunteers in a number of isolated communities have been trained as Community First Responders by the Ambulance Service of New South Wales. The Service's trained rescuers also support the full-time emergency services during major disasters. The NSW SES also assists other emergency services when they are performing major operations. These services include the NSW Police Force, the NSW Rural Fire Service, the Fire and Rescue NSW and the Ambulance Service of NSW.

🧡 Wear Orange Wednesday!
This is the one day of the year where the community throws on a splash of orange to say a massive thank you to all the incredible volunteers who work around the clock to keep the community safe.
From tarping roofs in the middle of the night to heading out on flood rescues, our crew at SES gives up their time out of goodwill for our local community.
👇 How you can get involved today:

🥰Today, NSW SES - Braidwood Unit sends our love, respect and gratitude to all the incredible mothers across the NSW SES family.
To the mums serving on the frontline, supporting behind the scenes, waiting at home during storms, floods and emergencies, and the mothers who support our SES members every single day — thank you. Your strength, care, sacrifice and unwavering support help keep our communities safe.
Mother’s Day is a reminder that volunteering is never done alone. Behind so many SES members stands a loving family, and today we especially acknowledge the mothers, grandmothers, carers and mother figures who continue to support others with kindness and compassion.

From all of us at Braidwood we wish you a Happy Mother’s Day

We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident off Ballina Bar overnigt.
Not only the loss of life from Marine Rescue NSW, but also the loss of life from the vessel they were responding to.
This sort of incident is a reminder of what the 000 Community often face every time they answer a call for help, and frequently in the most challenging and dangerous conditions.
We extend our sincere condolences to the families, friends, and fellow members of Marine Rescue NSW, as well as all those affected by this tragedy.
Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

Today NSW SES - Braidwood Unit thanks Danny King on his final day as Deputy Group Captain after three years in the role. 🚒
Danny, thank you for the Mateship and inter agency co-operation you’ve brought to the position.
Your generosity to the community shapes the volunteer ethos for the long haul. 🙏
The good news: Danny isn’t going anywhere. He’ll continue to serve Braidwood Rural Fire Service, where he’s already clocked up more than half a century as a volunteer firefighter. Fifty years as a volunteer is an extraordinary contribution that few will ever match.
From all of us at Braidwood SES: thank you, Danny. We’re lucky to still have you alongside us. 🧡
