As the huge week has come to an end and all of 30ACU are now at home, we would like to say a huge congratulations and express our appreciation to all Staff and Cadets who attended.

Whether it was your first annual camp or you've been before, it's never easy, you're pushed both mentally and physically. We can proudly say that all cadets gave it their all, and the friendships created will be ones to remember.

A few special shout-outs:
To the staff who volunteer their time away from their families, who wake up early and stay up late, thank you.

To the two CUOs, Gorlin and Marrone thank you for all your hard work in planning both unit and battalion-wide activities.

To the NCOs who step up and run cadets- you are recognised and valued.

Enjoy your week off.

Kindest regards,
30ACU Sunshine

30ACU Honours ANZAC Day 2025

This ANZAC Day, 30 Army Cadet Unit proudly took part in commemorating the sacrifices of our servicemen and women, past and present.

Our day began with the solemn Dawn Service at the Flemington Kensington RSL, where cadets stood in quiet reflection as the community gathered to remember the ANZACs.

Following the service, we joined thousands in the City of Melbourne ANZAC Day March, proudly supporting the Hellenic Greek RSL and holding multiple banners throughout the parade supporting the Australian Army VIC Brigade.

Meanwhile, another dedicated team of cadets was at Bunnings Sunshine, running a fundraiser to support the RSL and raise money to help care for veterans and their families.

ANZAC Day is an important tradition for us. Through our participation, cadets learn the value of service, respect, and community — core values that define both the Army Cadet program and the spirit of ANZAC.

Lest We Forget.

**30 ACU Sunshine Takes on Canberra 🇦🇺**

Over the long weekend, 10 Cadets and 5 Adults from 30 ACU Sunshine embarked on an unforgettable trip to the nation's capital, Canberra.

The main highlight of the weekend was supporting the Hellenic RSL of South Melbourne during a special parade commemorating the entry of Greece into WWI. Our Cadets had the distinct honor of being part of the parade as the flag party — a truly proud moment for everyone involved. The Cadets were lucky enough to meet a special surprise visitor Brigadier Slaughter, who was humble enough to take a photo with us.

But the adventure didn’t stop there! The unit made the most of their time in Canberra by visiting the iconic Australian Parliament House and the Australian War Memorial. It was an opportunity to reflect on history and learn more about our nation’s heritage.

The Cadets also got to put their teamwork skills to the test with a fun and challenging escape room experience! 🧩

Along the way, they had the chance to meet and mingle with fellow cadets from the Air Force Cadets and 224 Canberra Army Cadets, making new connections and sharing experiences.

This annual trip was full of exciting activities, team-building moments, and plenty of great memories. Can’t wait for next year! 🌟

Remembrance Day

Every year at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, a minute of silence is held.
This is a time to reflect and remember those who have served and paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our freedom.

Lest we Forget

|| Red poppies and sprigs of rosemary are often worn as signs of remembrance.

Red poppies were among the first plants to spring up in the devastated battlefields of northern France and Belgium.

In soldiers' folklore, the vivid red of the poppy came from the blood of their comrades soaking the ground.

Rosemary is an emblem of both fidelity and remembrance in literature and folklore and it has particular significance for Australians, as it can be found growing wild on the Gallipoli peninsula.

Great to see Tasmania’s cadets in the thick of it.

It’s a shame Victoria couldn’t participate in our annual camp this year but we have our fingers crossed for 2022 🤞🏻🤞🏻
