🚴‍♂️ Bring the whole family along to the FREE Rainbow Rides community events! 🌈

There’s something for everyone, with kids’ bike activities, games and family fun in the Event Village, plus food and stalls to enjoy. For those keen to get out on two wheels, there’s also a relaxed community ride suitable for a range of ages and abilities.

Australian professional cyclist Matilda Raynolds will be at all three events, adding to the excitement!

Little riders can get in on the action with a dedicated kids’ bike course designed for younger riders to ride, play and build their confidence. For ages 12+ and adults, join the community ride to get out, explore and enjoy the local trails.

Temporary Suspension of Grease Trap and Septage Waste Acceptance 🚧💧

The Bridgetown Waste Facility's liquid waste ponds have reached full capacity due to heavy rainfall and cooler seasonal conditions. As a result, the Shire has temporarily suspended the acceptance of grease trap and septage waste. 🛑⚠️

Alternative Disposal: Local liquid waste can still be disposed of through licensed contractors who transport to approved external facilities. 🚚💨

We are actively working to restore capacity and appreciate your patience. 🛠️🙏

🎨 NEW EXHIBITION | REDRAW by Nyx Birkhead

We’re excited to welcome Redraw, the first solo exhibition by young Manjimup-based artist Nyx Birkhead, to the Goorbilyup Gallery.

The exhibition brings together drawings created in Nyx’s early teens, with recent ‘redraws’ of original sketches allowing the viewer an intimate glimpse into the evolution of an artistic mind and maturing skill. It serves as a bite-sized look into the fruits of young creative labour.

🚜 Calling all local contractors! The Shire is setting up a new panel for fuel hazard reduction, firebreak, and paddock slashing works, and we want you to apply.

The application process is quick and simple, with total flexibility to choose the types of work that suit your setup. Being on the panel doesn't commit you to anything, giving you the freedom to accept or decline jobs based on your availability when work comes up around December. ⏱️

Know someone who makes Bridgetown-Greenbushes a better place to live? – its easy

Nominations are now open for the 2027 Community Citizen of the Year Awards.

Every town has them - the people who turn up early, stay late, and never ask for anything in return. The volunteer who’s run the same sausage sizzle for fifteen years. The teenager coaching juniors on a Saturday morning. The group quietly holding something together that the rest of us take for granted.

This is your chance to make sure they’re recognised.

There are four categories:

• Community Citizen of the Year

• Community Citizen of the Year (Senior)

• Community Citizen of the Year (Youth)

• Active Citizenship (Group or Event)

Recipients will be announced at our Australia Day celebrations in January 2027.

Nominations close 31 October 2026. It only takes a few minutes - and it might mean the world to someone who’d never put their own hand up.

Join us for three FREE community cycling days in Balingup, Bridgetown, and Pemberton leading up to the UCI Gravel World Championships!

Not riding? No worries! Come enjoy the Event Villages with local food, kids’ activities, face painting, and entertainment. 🥳

🗓️ Balingup: Sun 4 Oct | 9am–12pm (14km ride starts 10am)
🗓️ Bridgetown: Mon 5 Oct | 9am–12pm (15km & 8km rides start 10am)
🗓️ Pemberton: Tue 6 Oct | 2pm–5pm (15km ride starts 3pm)

Free to attend, but registration is preferred!
