We helped deliver Queensland's pathway to end coal, the greatest emissions cut in Australia and the biggest investment in protected areas in Qld history. LEAN QLD is an association within the Labor Party, made up of grassroots members. We advocate and where necessary campaign on a wide range of issues, so that Queenslanders can enjoy a healthy, sustained, flourishing and productive environment, now and for generations to come.

We're very excited to share that Queensland's skills lab is coming up on the 6th of June!

After hearing incredible feedback from Tassie, the ACT and Victorian LEAN members following their sessions, Queensland LEAN can't wait to lean in to this incredible organising, campaigning, and capacity building opportunity.

Lead by our own Qld based National Campaign Organiser Jude, these sessions are for anyone within the party, new comers and experienced campaigners alike.

Follow and keep an eye out for more details, and if you want to be part of the most effective advocacy for protecting nature and delivering climate action thats good for workers, good for communites and protects what matters to Queenslanders, make sure to join LEAN!

Our National Campaign Organiser Jude has been running LEAN campaign and organising Skill Labs across the country for the last month, to help grow and strengthen our LEAN National community. And optimise the impact of our campaign.

After training weekends in Tasmania and Victoria, yesterday the Skill Lab program reached the ACT. Our National Secretary Janaline, who is based in the ACT, also joined this wonderful weekend session. The weekend was capped off with a fun social event attended by ACT Environment Minister Susan Orr and Minister Andrew Leigh MP.

We were thrilled to see both long‑standing and new LEAN and Labor members participating and contributing to plans to grow and strengthen
LEAN’s critical work. Additional training sessions are planned for NSW, Queensland and other states in the coming weeks.

If you would like to attend training and join LEAN please get in touch!

Today's destination absolutely lived up to its name - it was glorious!

LEAN and MBYL took to the mountains to really appreciate why it is we're committed to protecting nature and taking real action on climate change.

We discussed nature laws, climate justice, justice for First Nations People, unfair diesel rebates, and holding reckless state governments to account.

Massive thanks to these legends who made today inclusive, empowering and loads of fun.

If you want to join us for our next nature walk, or have a spot in mind you want to share, sign up at the link in our bio, or send us a DM.

RSVP to join LEAN and MBYL at 10am this Sunday at Mt Glorious!

We'll be exploring the best of D'Aguilar National Park up at Mt Glorious.

Along the way, learn about LEANs' latest campaign to remove billions in fossil subsidies from Australia's biggest emitters.

See you on the trail 🌿

Renew: 'CSIRO’s latest annual GenCost report has revealed fresh plunges in big battery costs and a welcome dip in the cost of onshore wind, while also confirming – for the seventh year in a row – that a mix of firmed renewables is the cheapest way forward for Australia’s electricity system.

CSIRO, Australia’s premier science agency, and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), have collaborated on the annual GenCost report since 2018, when the first report was produced after being commissioned by the then Coalition government.

It was designed as an effort to deliver a “policy-neutral and technology-agnostic assessment” of cost data for new-build generation and storage technologies to underpin electricity system modelling and planning. Its conclusions have been consistent – renewables and storage are the lowest option.'
