We’re excited to share a great opportunity to connect with psychiatrists and trainees. In collaboration with the Psychiatry Interest Forum (PIF), we’re running an informal networking series designed to give you practical, real‑world insight into psychiatry careers and training pathways.

Previous sessions have explored psychiatry subspecialties, common myths and misconceptions, and the College Fellowship program. It’s a fantastic chance to meet psychiatrists and trainees, ask questions, and get a clearer sense of the breadth of the specialty.

The series includes three 1‑hour sessions held over consecutive weeks from late September to early October, offered in person in Brisbane and/or online (TBC).

Join us Friday, August 28, from 5–7 PM at the RBWH Health Sciences Building for a hands-on, small-group workshop exploring the fascinating intersections of art, psychoanalysis, and Surrealism.

✨ No artistic experience or skills required! Just bring your curiosity and creativity.

Through hands-on activities, you’ll explore:

🫟 Rorschach Inkblots — Discover the iconic inkblot method created by Hermann Rorschach, a Swiss psychiatrist with a strong interest and background in art.

🧠 Jung & Mandalas — Explore Carl Jung’s use of mandala-making and its connection to the unconscious, symbolism, and self-exploration.

✂️ Surrealist Collage — Experiment with techniques inspired by Surrealist artists and thinkers such as André Breton and Salvador Dalí, whose work was deeply influenced by psychoanalysis and ideas about the unconscious.

🍕🥤 Food and drinks will be catered!

Come along, meet others, get creative, and discover a side of yourself you may not have known was there—all in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.
