Every day Joel reports the news. But this story hit differently.

As a husband and dad, Joel knows what it means to feel secure, and what it costs when that's taken away.

Right now, older women over 55 are one of the fastest growing groups facing homelessness in Australia. Mothers. Grandmothers. Carers. Women who spent their lives looking after others.

That's why Joel has joined us as an ambassador for The Forgotten Women, and why he's taking part in the Live Like Her Challenge, giving up his comfort for one night to help older women find safety again.

Trish shared a story from the night that stopped her in her tracks. An 89 year old woman. Seventeen years in the same rental. Being evicted because her pension couldn't keep up with rising rent. The Forgotten Women stepped in, paid her arrears, and committed to covering that gap for the rest of her life.

Three years in, and Brisbane North PHN are still showing up for older women 💙

We're so grateful to have been invited to share the story of The Forgotten Women with their wider team, and to talk about how participating in the challenge contributes to real and meaningful change for the older women we support.

This year, their team (PHuNsters 26) is back with something special: a staff "soup kitchen" where a hot lunch = a donation to the team. Fun, creative, and incredibly effective.

Current standing on the team leaderboard? $22,137. Top spot. 👀
