🗺 Explore Professor Rosita Henry’s archival journey into how kiaps (patrol officers) shaped political education and nation-building in Papua New Guinea in the 1960s and 1970s, as the 2025 Fryer Fellow.

📚 Drawing on the rich Papua New Guinea Association of Australia collection, this research uncovers the complexities, challenges and human stories behind preparing a nation for independence, revealing moments of uncertainty, ambition and deep commitment to shaping PNG’s future.

Level 3 of Central Library has recently had an upgrade to make the low-light study spaces even better!

It now features special lighting around the room, which provides dim and comfortable low light for focused study. A lot of the tables also have individual desk lamps.

We'll be tweaking the light levels over the next couple of weeks, so if you have any feedback, please let us know.
