Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

📚Mrs Natalie’s Favourite Book.

The Gruffalo is Mrs Natalie’s favourite book, so today she created a little Gruffalo inspired display in our front foyer for the children to explore!

The children can take a closer look, revisit the much-loved story on the way in and out of the centre, and use their imaginations as they step into the magical world of the deep, dark wood.

Next week, 24–28 August, we’re celebrating the magic of books, stories and imagination! 🎶📖

Our children will be invited to dress up as their favourite book character, bring along and share their favourite stories, and enjoy a week full of exciting Book Week fun! 🥰

Throughout the week we’ll be exploring stories through music, movement, art, dramatic play and storytelling, giving the children lots of opportunities to share their voices and let their imaginations shine. 🎨🎭🎵

Our Kindergarten children have been loving watching our worm farm grow! They have been learning how worms help our garden by turning food scraps into rich, healthy soil. 🌿

The children have been observing, feeding and caring for our wriggly little friends, developing a wonderful understanding of sustainability, nature and caring for our environment. 💚
