In recognition of Pride Month, we are sharing Sam’s Story. 🏳️‍🌈

Pride Month is a time to celebrate identity, independence, and the journeys that make it possible to live authentically.🍭

For Sam, 26, from North Brisbane, this means living independently, working in a pharmacy, and confidently managing everyday life—milestones achieved through ongoing support, determination and the assistance of the NDIS.

Diagnosed as neurodivergent as a teenager, Sam faced challenges many didn’t see.

Today, their story is a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community, including the right NDIS supports needed to build capacity.

For many Australians caring for an ageing parent, the first warning sign is not always a fall, a hospital stay or a formal diagnosis. Sometimes it is something much quieter.

An empty fridge. Expired milk. A parent insisting they have already eaten. For many family carers, the first signs an ageing parent is struggling are subtle, but the emotional weight can be enormous.

June is Pride month and celebrations are in full swing across Queensland!🍭

Last weekend we attended the Rainbow on the Reef Fair Day in Gladstone. This vibrant local event celebrated identity, diversity, and community.

It was a day full of colour, connection, and meaningful conversations.

Many shared powerful reflections on inclusion and allyship, highlighting the importance of kindness, respect, and creating spaces where everyone can be their authentic selves.
